What if Charles, Duke of Guyenne survived?

True, but it screws them in the sense they won’t be as able to stop French ambitions in Italy and Europe as a whole without Castile, at least not until the two start to drift apart.

    The Plantagenet Succession

Great update! Poor Maggie getting blamed for murdering her rival. Also I take it Louis XII is King now?

    Your Personal TNO Headcanon?

I actually made a map of my own TNO headcanon. Here it is, but please note it will to change as more content is added to TNO: Here is the template that I used for this map, for anybody else who wants to use it. I also got most of the colors from this map.
  4. What if Charles, Duke of Guyenne survived?

I think the Habsburgs would be better off if they don't inherit Spain. No inbreeding, more time to focus on the HRE etc.

    Alternate Stewart succession of England?

Ah I see. So this time the husband is actually a benefit.

What if Charles, Duke of Guyenne survived?

Both of these are assuming Juana still loses. Which I doubt since she’ll be top priority for France if it means getting a powerful ally to the South.
  7. WI: JFK picks Walter Reuther to be his running mate

I assume that LBJ has something to do with Kennedy deciding to visit Dallas at the specific time that he did in 1963?
  8. The Plantagenet Succession

I suppose OP could retcon in a northern rebellion following the whole ordeal with Gloucester but yes. Richmond's been returned to Tudor hasn't it? If Grey needs a northern earldom Kendal or Carlisle would do, with the (presumably TTL, since Liz Woodville's carrying out grudges) confiscated...
  9. How long would it take for the Confederates to abolish slavery if they won the civil war?

If we posit the CSA surviving as a sovereign state, I personally don't ever see abolition, as in, a legal end to slavery, happening at all. One aspect to this is its central role in their founding myth (the Civil War will certainly become a mythical founding war) which means that there is a lot...

    The Plantagenet Succession

Good point. The Percy Family hasn't lost the title yet... Richard had better have a different title. Richmond, perhaps?
  11. How long would it take for the Confederates to abolish slavery if they won the civil war?

While slavery is not profitable for a society as a whole (a non-slavery society is bound to be richer than a slave society, all other things being equal), it is very profitable for the slave owner - and that goes for whatever work the slave does. A lot of early industrial work was hard labour...

In the absence of George Washington who becomes the first US President?

True, would Hancock be enough to unify it? And if not who would be enough to hold it together?

A Queen Twice Over: Mary Tudor the Elder Marries Francis I of France

Many thanks! Thank you, that's very kind! Thank you! Well, yes, it does sound a bit silly, but she is right in saying that the Papacy believes itself to be infallible, so Popes are reluctant to overturn their predecessors decisions. And I don't think Katherine was above ignoring inconvenient...
  14. The Forge of Weyland

To put the Hague raid in perspective the size of the bomber force was larger in a single raid than any of the daytime attacks on London in the Battle of Britain (I think). It's also 3 times the size of the OTL Rotterdam raid. Largest daily attack on London I can find was 7 September when 348...
  15. Keynes' Cruisers Volume 2

@fester With a simultanious Overlord and Draggon, it seems that the Allies have an huge boost in amphibious capacities from OTL. I suspect that they can land 4/5 divisions in Normandy and 2/3 in Provence the first day, plus the little landing in Greece. That's at least a 25% boost from OTL where...
  16. German completely adopts the defensive September 1942

A defensive posture on the southern portion of the Eastern Front from September 1942 is still on very extended lines. With inadequate reserves even after the withdrawal from the Ryzhev etc. salients. The Red Army will also have troops released to reserves and not suffer the losses from...
  17. German completely adopts the defensive September 1942

The big problem with a defensive strategy is that defense doesn't win wars. It only stretches them out. By this time, the Germans have done plenty of things to sufficiently motivate their enemies to want to truly defeat them, and making the process a bit harder isn't going to change that...

    WI: Qantas Flight 72 crashes?

Yes, we know about that. It may edited out in later reruns on TV and the Blu-Ray release.
  19. WI: Qantas Flight 72 crashes?

This scene in Rainman would be slightly different.
