  1. Map Thread XX

[Disclaimer - I know not much about LOTR and am not in the fandom] But aesthetically thas is a really, gorgeous, map!
  2. The Forge of Weyland

Given the very heavy losses so far, the ability to respond is limited, and will likely only be in response to serious need. This will improve, but it will take time.

Basically, yes. (Iq's Life On Mars).

    Alternate Stewart succession of England?

Well at least here Mary gets a happy ending

A Queen Twice Over: Mary Tudor the Elder Marries Francis I of France

Seems like something Henry would do actually. I can only imagine Arthur's reaction if he saw what Henry did to Catherine!

What is that thing in Poland?
  7. An 1-engine fast bomber for 1935-45?

Fiat have had a wide range of V12 engines in the 1920s and early 1930s, whether racing types or 'normal' types. That got a bit cut down by government, asking them to concentrate on smaller number of models. Things probably went downhill with switch to the radial engines for the 1st line A/C...

Alternate Wikipedia Infoboxes VI (Do Not Post Current Politics or Political Figures Here)

My governor has a very unfortunate name.
  9. The Forge of Weyland

And with the lines now mostly static, the opportunity for French and British raids on German troop concentrations increases. As well as transport and logistic targets (bridges over the Rhine and in Holland?)

Byzantines reconquer southern Italy and Rome by 1100, how does Christendom develop from there?

If the issue is Balkan colonization/settlement, have Nikephoros be massively successful during his Balkan campaigns, and have his son continue those policies with similar success. A Romanized Balkans would lead over time to there being a greater excess of Romans who could be settled into Italy.
  11. Nuclear energy=nuclear weapons?

No, actually it's not. Before Trinity the projected yield of the MK3 was around five kilotonnes, about one-third of the MK1, with some predictions of less than one kilotonne (the minimum that Oppenheimer considered a success). Still a powerful weapon but not a city-buster. The chances of a...

In the absence of George Washington who becomes the first US President?

Now you say it this council idea is pretty cool, anyone else find it plausible? And would the candidates you've all been suggesting be likely to end up in it?
  13. WI: Syria and Lebanon never separated?

So how would this country be called.

The United Kingdom of Great Britain, Northern Ireland and Malta

I do wonder if a timeline where Newfoundland joined the UK in the 1930's sees Malta, Aden, and lots of Island chains joining the UK as constituent parts or Overseas Territories instead of taking independence and (mostly) poverty?
  15. Is it possible to avoid the catastrophic economic and demographic fallout from the USSR collapse

I’m just curious how Central Asia wasn’t really effected while a country like Ukraine has never really recovered from the USSR collapse.
  16. Boldly Going: A History of an American Space Station

ETS was my CGI dojo, and I remain extremely grateful to the authors for continually challenging me to up my game. The thought of going back and updating the illustrations has crossed my mind too, especially since a lot of the old image ETS links got broken at some point. There's too much new...

No No, I worked at Butlins. Lost 2 stone in 8 weeks.
  18. WI: Syria and Lebanon never separated?

Likely far richer with the combined resources and Ports leading to far stronger focus on trade. Granted one of the biggest changes would likely be how France would run it, if their is a strong rail system to connect them, then their that would affect a lot of things later as it means troops can...
  19. AHC/WI: Stronger IJN light cruiser line

They were originally attached to the Main Body alongside the 14" battleships, and would presumably have launched an opening torpedo salvo to start the daylight gunnery action. Why they were sent up north with the 14" battleships is beyond me, but frankly why those battleships were sent north to...
  20. The Forge of Weyland

300 bombers isn't quite a maximum force, but its certainly a heavy one. Of course, that was the idea - to convince the Dutch in particular that the Luftwaffe can do this sort of attack whenever it pleases. The rest of the level bombers, the dive bombers and most of the fighters are being...
