  1. A Queen Twice Over: Mary Tudor the Elder Marries Francis I of France

I'm of the neutral on Katherine as much as I am on most of the wives in that I find them interesting, though admittedly I do have favorites... I suppose it's because I def would have taken the annulment and gotten the heck out of there, bye Henry ;)

What if the French Revolution never happened? | Fraternité en Rébellion

❤️ We looked through it, and we believe it should be around the 170 million mark. Was probably an error caused by us looking at the Russian census to gauge instead of the overall Soviet Union one. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask! Am always cool answering them.
  3. Now is the Winter of Our Discontent

Noted! Hastings still exist, the last Duke of York married one and I shall keep that in mind while I'm trying to settle her. Although Kitty will likely lead a separate life to her husband so there's that.

A Queen Twice Over: Mary Tudor the Elder Marries Francis I of France

She'd probably be sent back to Spain not long after, so that she could be used for other political alliances.
  5. A swift Republican victory in the Spanish Civil War?

Well how far did Germany get into France before it caved? Logistically they'd be pushing it if they had to go all the way to the Pyrenees, and then have to go through them and invade Spain, a country without great infrastructure, their supply lines would probably be pushed to breaking point.

    Alternate Stewart succession of England?

True, she really is a tragic figure, especially since according to some, her son was indifferent towards her death
  7. WI: JFK picks Walter Reuther to be his running mate

This would be a disaster. The Democrats' association with "big labor" was a liability in the South and even in much of the North (the fact that a heavily Democratic Congress passed the Landrum-Griffin Act should indicate that organized labor was hardly universally popular even among Democrats)...
  8. AHC: Have Hawaii dump the Union Jack

Barry was born in Hawai'i, yes (but Hawaiian, in Hawai'i, means being a native Hawaiian, and he wasn't that), but he lived in Illinois. Besides, you can be from Hawai'i (and even Hawaiian) and not really be down with the independence movement; even if it was more successful, there would surely...
  9. Alternate Stewart succession of England?

You got the point 👍 If only she had a husband who could balance her out and possibly moderate her more extreme beliefs, she would’ve lasted a lot longer on the throne
  10. WI: Syria and Lebanon never separated?

While Syria and Lebanon were under French rule as a League of Nations mandate, they were joined as a single entity, the "Mandate for Syria and the Lebanon". What if they had gained independence as a single nation? How would the histories of both nations be changed with them united under a single...

A Queen Twice Over: Mary Tudor the Elder Marries Francis I of France

What would have happened to Katherine if she had comsumated her marriage to Arthur therefore could not marry Henry? Place at Court and an English Baron? Or Sent back to Spain - would that effect the alliance?
  12. How long and could it take for the Byzantine (Roman) Empire to industrialize?

It depends. Industrialization of Byzantium would require changes to political and social structure of the country so that it makes more sense to increase productivity rather than just to decrease costs of labor. Byzantium has an enormous advantage of having inherited the knowledge of the Greeks...
  13. Boldly Going: A History of an American Space Station

Such an exciting update, and an excellent look forward in a time frame similar to our own. I'm super stoked to see how Kepler's parallel development will compare to NASA's shiny new orbiter!

And All Nations Shall Gather To It - A Crusades TL

Now answering to the posts of page 117: @Talus I of Dixie - Very much correct about the Kurds. I likely overestimated the relevance of the Zengids or the Ayyubids to the Kurds. I see now that they didn't really made a difference for them as a people. @TickTock The Witch's Dead - Just remember...
  15. Boldly Going: A History of an American Space Station

Interesting--so Shuttle-II will be configured a bit like the DC-Y was supposed to be. Will Diana also be doing TEI/TLI burns, or will a suped-up Galileo tug be needed to bring prop from LEO to LLO?

  17. WI: The Enterprise completes its five year mission (Star Trek survives for 5 seasons)

Xon is not that popular a character because the fans view him as the replacement Spock and nobody can replace Spock. Remember how up in arms people initially were when news leaked before Star Trek II that Spock was going to die. The fans demanded he be returned back to life and the producers...
  18. Hawker Hurricane even more prolific and versatile?

It's on this link http://www.austinmemories.com/styled-20/index.html The caption on this picture is "Hurricane ready to be lifted from the flight shed to the airfield." Getting a stirling or lancaster up that ramp could have been a bit tricky. Site also says "Because of the short runway at...
  19. German completely adopts the defensive September 1942

agree with you, not sure how clear my post was IF Leningrad had already been captured prior to this, since that is not the OP, I see little they can do other than, Houdini-like, avoid the worst debacles? what they are going to produce in terms of armaments is up to them, possibly losing fewer...
