  1. Sam Westwood's Hollywood

I wonder if this Orion Pictures becomes more like Grand Diamond in @OldNavy1988's various American Magic projects.

  3. What if Russia invested more heavily into American colonization?

You want to see 5 million loyalists evacuate via the TSRR and take a barely existent Pacific fleet to a territory that has a population of around 800k today and had around 50k at the time?
  4. Is it possible to avoid the catastrophic economic and demographic fallout from the USSR collapse

Yeah, that is pretty much it. No one wanted to buy their crap, not even the Soviets themselves when they had a choice.

  6. Soviet low level air defense missiles: too little too late ?

Well in my mind there are a few clues: Advanced low level strike aircraft (ie the F111's) seemed to be able to fly missions at low level with reasonable loss rates (at least in my view) once they over came their initial teething troubles. By 1972 (or perhaps earlier ?) the U.S. seemed to have...

    TL-191: After the End

Aside from Francisco Jose II (who I know got executed like OTL Maximilian did), what happened to the rest of the Mexican imperial family after the Republic was declared in 1945? Have they been co-opted by Neo-fascists/neo-freedomites to contrast with the American backed Republican government?
  9. The Professor

Byzantines reconquer southern Italy and Rome by 1100, how does Christendom develop from there?

It wouldn't be fully autocephalous but a lot of the appointments and decisions etc the Pope would make OTL would be taken by the realm's primate instead. It could look a tad Anglican or Episcopal Protestant.
  10. German completely adopts the defensive September 1942

They just turned it into a war of attrition that was what Barbarossa was intended to prevent because the German high command knew they could not win a war of attrition
  11. Is it possible to avoid the catastrophic economic and demographic fallout from the USSR collapse

Were or were not Soviet goods mostly "Goodwill quality"? The CIA admitted when it estimated the GDP numbers it used what it would cost us to manufacture it, not what it was actually worth.
  12. Is it possible to avoid the catastrophic economic and demographic fallout from the USSR collapse

The 'problem' with valuing the Soviet economy is that it produced goods (or not) as 'directed' by the central planners, rather than by 'market forces' ... Since the citizens had no option but to purchase said goods (or do without), they appeared to have a 'market value' .. but the hard reality...
  13. Is it possible to avoid the catastrophic economic and demographic fallout from the USSR collapse

Quite the Stalinist aren't you? Taxation set at such a high punitive level that the peasants are literally slaughtering their livestock by the million at a much faster rate than they replacing them and often letting them to rot rather than letting the state have them is theft in all but name...
  14. Is it possible to avoid the catastrophic economic and demographic fallout from the USSR collapse

Now your moving the goalposts. I didn't say that alcoholism isn't a heavy problem in the Soviet Union or modern Russia. But the rapid rise of alcoholism after 1990 was a product of the unfolding economy, not it's source.

Then Darkseid becomes either a Fantastic four villain or a Thor Villain
  16. What is the semi-automatic rifle loading technology with the lowest technical threshold?

Both recoil and gas operation were conceptualized in the 1850s, if we discount dubious claims of recoil operation being conceptualized in the 1660s. It took a couple of decades to solve the problems with the mechanisms and actually get them onto functioning firearms, and then actual production...

February Revolution with Alexei as Tsar?

April 1916, perhaps? I'm not sure what Mikhail or a new more liberal government could do to improve things, however. Perhapshe Entente gives Russia the loan they asked for OTL, which may help.
  18. What if Russia invested more heavily into American colonization?

in a ATL the revolution could brake out in Russia (or something else) engulfing it in a civil war. Napoleon might reason that if he sells Lousiana to the russian goverment they move to Lousiana turning the russian state into a ally (or something easier to conquer) and give him some spending cash...
  19. WI: Warsaw Pact armies if USSR liberalizes

Ceausescu did not officially leave the WP, as de Gaulle officially didn't leave NATO. Both de facto withdrew from the military structures of their alliances.
  20. How long would it take for the Confederates to abolish slavery if they won the civil war?

I say right after the confederate government falls to a socialist revolution in the early 1900s
