"What Madness Is This?" Volume II: Prophecies in the Dark

Went to the hospital today and got mostly sorted out. I am massively overstressed and suffer anxiety and PTSD and it is causing me ulcers and stomach disasters. Lol I'm going to go light for another week and then my new prescripts should bring back good ol' Napo. :) Thanks for being patient...
  2. AHC: The US with a high speed rail system as prolific as in East Asia or western Europe

That would just delay it. Once the economy recovers the US consumers will buy cars and that is all she wrote.
  3. AHC: Defend the Falklands

IOTL the Argentine planners for Operation Rosario were told to capture the Falkland Islands but not to defend them. Your challenge is alongside planning to capture them planning be undertaken to defend them. The parameters are: Planning begins on December 15 1981 for an operation to occur in...
  4. AHC: The US with a high speed rail system as prolific as in East Asia or western Europe

To give you an honest answer, you'd have to hobble the US economy drastically enough circa 1900 to choke off industrialization and the rapid development of automobiles here. Maybe get the US involved in WW1 earlier, lose a few million troops in europe, spend the treasuries dry building war...
  5. Byzantines reconquer southern Italy and Rome by 1100, how does Christendom develop from there?

    1) i don't doubt it 2) maybe he moved out because all previous rebelions of Exarchate of Africa were crushed by the Romans ? 3) i mean if were the emperor i would also prevent a power base seen as how they rebelled a lot also this is why I mentioned the earlier themes before the reforms which...

Use one of the portable nuclear reactor designs the Army played with in the early '60s 😵
  7. What would the Americas be like if the Chinese colonized it?

Exactly. It might not be how we understand, but it could end up that way eventually

Republic of Lamu - Legacy of Japanese colonization of the Horn of Africa

Tbh I wanted to focus on the impact of such a colony rather than how it came to be. Also my thinking was that the colony falls incredibly quickly to the Allies.

What if Rome sends a Navy to conquer India

    It fails miserably.
  10. AHC: The US with a high speed rail system as prolific as in East Asia or western Europe

They also have much greater population density which helps it pay off to maintain them. The US doesn't have the population density to support passenger trains. Passenger trains "waste" a lot of space that is better used to transport goods on those very expensive rails.
  11. AHC: The US with a high speed rail system as prolific as in East Asia or western Europe

A fair point. A lot of the country isn't condusive to overland travel because population density is real low. But it is probably equal to Western Europe in the industrial midwest, and probably rivals Japan along the northeastern seaboard. As to air travel, I have flown from Amsterdam to...
  12. WI: Britain Keeps Michigan and Wisconsin Territory If America Still Goes Independent?

So do not sure what you would need to change to stop the British from giving it in the Paris Treaty or eventually being out settled by Americans down the line. But of Brittan did and cooperated it into BNA/Canada , how would that change the developments of the Great Lakes Region? Note, I am...

What if Rome sends a Navy to conquer India

Fed up from draining wealth from importing luxurious goods from India. What if Rome raises a Navy in the red sea, greedy to conquer the prosperous and resource rich kingdoms of India? If in 100AD the Roman Navy lands on the western shores of southern India, then what can be the consequences...
  14. Emerald of The Equator: An Indonesian TL

Towns on the pedalaman (hinterland) like Malang, Jombang, and even Pekanbaru are still far from any adequate TV transmitters. Radio remains supreme in Indonesia, for now. TV channels, however, can still enjoy a vast audience in most populated cities such as Singapore, KL, Jakarta and Surabaya...
  15. The Undying Empire: A Trebizond Timeline

Makes one wonder if Candarids are doing this for revenge as well since they have targeted Trebizond in the past, then there is the possibility of there involvement in the Ottoman civil war to be considered. Candarids plan (whatever it is) could possibly backfire leading to the Golden Horde and...

What if Admiral Yamamoto survived World War II

Would he be tried for wars crimes? Or would he be a officer for the JMSDF by 1954 just like how Minuro Genda became third Chief of Staff of the JASDF? Or would he run for politics such as the Diet?

Threadmarks: Frederick and Victoria: Consorts of Germany

"...Caprivi's alarm at the degeneration of the German military by the end of the decade had caused a number of reforms, ones that were initially resisted by a military establishment that still was full of awkward feelings over the Waldersee Putsch even half a decade later. Based on reports from...
