What if Rome sends a Navy to conquer India

Assuming they even get there without giving up and going home: -Local Indian kingdoms defeat them -Persia intercepts them and destroys them -Trade with Indian kingdoms is ruined if the Indians come to see the Romans as enemies even if the Romans somehow manage to even get a tiny foothold in...

not sure if I'm being a bit thick but it looks like you just received your first turtledove @allanpcameron . About bloody time tbf.

DBWI: Caesar does not conquer Parthia

The scenarios you guys are painting are wrecking my poor little brain. This completely butterflies away King Cadwallader and his Atlantic Empire. I mean, if Caesar were to conquer Gallia, Britannia would certainly follow. If, say, the Romans of that timeline had a similar crisis to the Dark ages...

AHC: The US with a high speed rail system as prolific as in East Asia or western Europe

Except that's not the point being advanced in this thread... We're all talking about how systems that move goods benefit the entire national economy, and how the same cannot be said of systems that exclusively move people. You seem to be missing that nuance entirely in your efforts to equate HSR...

AHC: The US with a high speed rail system as prolific as in East Asia or western Europe

This is what I was largely thinking of doing for my own rail TL ideas. Or, we could use that Steel Interstate thing I posted as a model to create said quadruple-track mainline, with two tracks for passenger rail, another two for freight.

Yet another unfinished Worldbuilding project, this one included a bunch of maps with America as China. I made this which intended to be the parallel between the Yuan-Southern Song conflict.

However, it is a lesson the author learned in the writing of the events in this story.

I intended to make this into a series of maps but I never did more than this one (a recurrent theme in my althist life).
  10. Israeli preempts the yom Kappor war

The day of the opening of the war, but before hostilities started, Henry Kissinger told Golda Meir not to pre-empt, and said later that if Israel pre-empted they would not get “so much as a nail,” sez Wikipedia. If the US stuck to this position then no Operation Nickel Grass. So if Israel...

Boldly Going: A History of an American Space Station

This timeline has been incredible, as was expected. It sad to see it on it's way out, but it's always good to write something with an ending in mind, and also to end a timeline before you get too far from reality. (Meanwhile, I occasionally argue with myself over whether I should end my own...

Another cover of a B_Munro map, this time it's this Agent of Byzantium map based on the book series by the same name.
  14. What if Rome sends a Navy to conquer India

Leaving all else aside, If they set out from Rome in 100 AD, Trajan wouldn't even hear word of whether they lost or won before at least 105 AD. It would be like a mission to Mars except without any communication. And even if they succeeded Rome couldn't respond to any later threats until too late.
  15. The New Order: Last Days of Europe - An Axis Victory Cold War Mod for HoIIV

The Japanese. They're explicitly stated to have been a Co-Prosperity Sphere project, and even if they're not quite as deep in it by 1962, there's surely way too many links for them to be looking anywhere else.
