  1. Sir John Valentine Carden survives.

The morale effect cuts both ways, the Germans will also be less confident, more likely to hesitate and pause rather than assume that they can bull through. The improved reliability of the British tanks will also enable them to be more effective force multipliers on the defensive as they will be...
  2. AHC: Make Morocco part of "Europe" to an extent, like Turkey or Russia, with a POD past 1500 AD

The "Spain or Portugal conquers North Africa" are unsatisfying responses and don't really answer the question. Turning a region into a colony does not change much. Like most post-Timurid states, Morocco had the problem of breaking out into civil war every time the ruling Sultan dies. This...
  3. July 1917 Kadet Coup against Kerenksy?

1.) Yurenev and Oldenburg stayed on as Kadets. Nekrasov and Efremov also certainly were no socialists, and I'dsay as much about Tereshchenko. 2.) The OP asked about a July KD coup. Weird to resign, just to coup yourself Back. Some KD leaders really were acting like beheaded hens, but couping...
  4. Boldly Going: A History of an American Space Station

Really makes you wonder what happened to America. Other countries would build one thing that performed two functions. We used to just say, build two things that each performed one function.

The Iron Age of Comics: Jim Shooter's Return to Marvel

Have you considered having Alan Moore publish his "Twilight of the Superheroes" with another company, like Caliber Comics, using either original characters or Caliber's Big Bang Comics characters...
  6. Italy Wins the First Italo-Abyssinian War

Italy plan are not full annexation like Mussolini, basically the idea is to force Abyssinia to become an official italian protectorate, probably some enlargement of Eritrea, not more...basically once the treaty is signed the troops will retreat. Not that much and by the time of Adwa the army...
  7. WI Larger and better Poland pre ww2 Effects?

Likely but hitler seems hard to stop and ww2 is delayed

An Age of Miracles Continues: The Empire of Rhomania

Probably a mix of both but heavily Nahuatl since they didn't have the backing of the Aquitaine state the way Cortes had Spain. Though Quechua and some Mayan words might be making their way in, as well as Greek.

    Zimbabwean dollars?
  10. Sony never makes PlayStation

On-topic, are you certain that the tides wouldn't turn at the Dreamcast? I heard that after messing up with the Saturn, Sega made sure their Dreamcast is made as easy as possible to code for. And Dreamcast was only killed because of PlayStation 2's extreme hype. A Saturn with a messed-up launch...
  11. Italy Wins the First Italo-Abyssinian War

Indeed as ethiopian army is armed well with modern weapons, they can force a long guerilla war to put the italians out of there

Amazing new chapter 🤩🤩🤩 Great job guys!!!!
  13. Italy Wins the First Italo-Abyssinian War

Italy would need a lot more soldiers to garrison Ethiopia in it's entirety. Ethiopia isn't just going to give up if the lose at Adwa. Expect years of resistance. It's going to have a least a semi-major toll on the Italian economy. Italy might be forced to remain neutral in WW1 if it hasn't...
  14. Miscellaneous <1900 (Alternate) History Thread

How many Maori first arrived in New Zealand, and if I were wanting them to have a larger starting population what is the maximum amount of Polynesians I could have go to New Zealand at once? So, I suppose this question is more of "What was the maximum number of people in Polynesian settlement...
  15. Sir John Valentine Carden survives.

Yeah, they couldn't take the British tanks head-on, even when they had artillery and aircraft. During an invasion, they won't have artillery, and air support will be limited, so, no chance.
  16. Keep the Essex class as a strike carrier

There's been a focus on reasons to keep the Essexes. This makes me wonder if doing it doesn't have knock-ons of its own: namely, cancellation (or non-initiation) of the Tomcat & Hornet programs, in favor of improving the Phantom. In short, is there a chance doing this will not only lead to no...
  17. Italy Wins the First Italo-Abyssinian War

What if Italy had been successful in the First Italo-Abyssinian War of 1896 and successfully established a protectorate over Ethiopia? Would this have affected Italian foreign policy to a degree in the era before the First World War?
  18. Sir John Valentine Carden survives.

There's no myth of the invincible panzer now. Those captured panzers have been thoroughly tested and in comparison to the Valiants and Matilda IIs found wanting.
  19. Sir John Valentine Carden survives.

Hm, I'd guess the government would be willing to deploy more units overseas, as the better tanks have proven that the Germans aren't quite as tough as they first appeared, so they don't need huge numbers held back to repel an invasion.
  20. WI: Charles I and Henrietta Maria die in 1640

Well, according to this site there was several outbreaks of plague in England during this era - in fact the 1625 one possibly tallies with the report I once remember reading that Charles' coronation celebrations being cut short by a plague outbreak in London [his father's too, in 1603]. From the...
