  3. AHC: Longest possible airship age

That makes a great deal of sense. A military can use airships to terrify people at first, and do recon well, but not do much damage. If there's no World War I, how late can airships be in common use? And what are some regions where airships are most useful for transportation? And what regions...

Threadmarks: Part 7 - A Birth of an Heir and the Fall of a Crown

March 9th, 1590, Windsor Castle "Its a boy! a boy!" The shout of the midwife as the full day of hard labour came to an end brought cheers and smiles across the whole castle. England had an Heir, for the first time since the death of Edward VI the Royal succession seemed to be secure. However...
  7. 1933-43: Italy remains on forefront of aviation?

The only thing that can be done to save that monstrosity is to take the wings off, haul it ashore and put it on a foundation to use as a lakeside holiday home.
  8. WI/PC: A Christian Japan

If Japan had been christianized, it would become another Philippine. I doubt there would be a Meiji reform.

  11. If Britain/France vs Germany/Italy goes on for many years, what moves do the Soviets make?

The Soviets will wait until the Germans are out of resources and fully engaged in the west before "liberating" Poland, Czechoslovakia and grabbing those bits of Eastern European countries that they have any sort of claim to.

    Sony never makes PlayStation

As an alternative to the probable late ‘90s Sega-Nintendo duopoly there is one console available for someone to enter the business in the timeframe—the M2. Panasonic won’t buy it because they were copying Sony. I’d also note that 3DO was the class leader in developer relations, so as part of the...

    AHC: Save a notorious flop

Maybe not a flop but the 1998 Godzilla (I love it even if it gets a lot of hate) could’ve done better. The lack of faithfulness to the titular character hurt that movie and guaranteed it wouldn’t get a trilogy. Have Zilla not run away all the time, shoot atomic fire breath, and take a lot more...
  16. How important was the Dunkirk evacuation ?

All of which is marvellous with hindsight, but as I think I commented in a different thread, England (or the UK) hadn't had an official court magician in the original timeline who laid claim to divination powers (authentic or otherwise) since John Dee. A UK in the scenario on this thread which...
  17. AHC: Defend the Falklands

My recollection is that one of the papers I read commented that only having two tanker aircraft (and presumably the distances involved) tended to preclude getting lots of aircraft in the target area at the same time. I seem to recall also having read comments complementing them on their...

    AHC: Save a notorious flop

2nded, one of my favourite disaster flicks alongside 'Earthquake' and 'The Towering Inferno' The Motion Picture was a bit too 'high brow' for most cinema goers. They should've left that type of stuff to the Arthur C Clarke 2001 trilogy!
  19. The Footprint of Mussolini - TL

Probably it helps that Ethiopian neighbors are more prosperous than in OTL. EAF is probably quiet big supporter of Ethiopian eocnomy. And TTL Ethiopia has too coastline which helps trade.

1933-43: Italy remains on forefront of aviation?

The Caproni CA-60 Transaero Build this correctly from the off! This had huge potential but had too many wings and was too complicated. Just go for the bog standard 'bi-plane' and bobs your uncle.
