  1. What if during the 1980's troubles Ireland was united but "committed" a terrifying bombing and Britain declared war on Ireland

Asb twist Irish American commander of a US SSN torpedoes and sink a British warship mutiny aboard theCVBG as it refuses to launch strike on Ireland rather some Irish descent pilots attack RN ships
  2. Sony never makes PlayStation

I literally just mentioned something about Sega's bad decisions right after the sentence you quoted, though I probably should've said "partially influenced" rather than just influenced.

    AHC: Save a notorious flop

Thunderbirds (2004) Couldn't believe that they actually f**ked up another one of my fav' TV series that I watched as a kid, the other being GINO (1998)! How to avoid the 2004 movie becoming a 'turkey' 1) Have Lew Grade at ATV (ITC) not be such a greedy bar steward when trying to flog it to...
  4. Foreign policy changes after a Bush win in ‘92

Probably pretty similar to Clinton's overall. As you say, it was a mess. Though one change for Bush, having already been a "wartime" President with the Gulf War, he won't be as hesitant in his actions and US forces are likely to have less restrictive ROEs.
  5. WI: The Enterprise completes its five year mission (Star Trek survives for 5 seasons)

The other thing I have to devise is some sort of instigating incident in the real world that causes the powers that be at Star Trek (Roddenberry, etc.) to devise a Federation-Klingon conflict for the first movie. Perhaps I can cook up a scenario where South Vietnam is still an independent...

Der Kampf: The Rise and Fall of the Austrian Führer

I get the very distinct impression it is the Austro-Slovene conflict that propels Hitler to nation, nay international attention, esp in this case the Slovene's broke the peace. Hoping Paul can get his family to safety from Berlin. Seems a horrible place at the mo. Glad to read more of this...
  8. As Dreamers Do: American Magic Redux

Cool! Might I suggest the name of that console to be the Atari 9000, given the state of gaming, their ownership by Disney, and Disney's significant reputation in the anime industry? Sure, Dragon Ball Z wouldn't be dubbed by Disney, but it's the general idea that counts here. Unfortunately, I...

List of Alternate Monarchs and Aristocratic Lineage

One of my very first alternate timeline ideas after joining this site was a timeline where Mary of Burgundy survived, and this is a much updated version of the Habsburg lineage for that TL. Maximilian I, Holy Roman Emperor (b. 1459, d. 1519) m. Mary of Burgundy (b. 1457, d. 1514) in 1477, had...
  10. Der Kampf: The Rise and Fall of the Austrian Führer

I think it would be interesting if Rommel leads perhaps an anti Hitler resistance, though I don't know how he would end up leaving the german army. Most likely he will end up in the german army and just fight Hitler regardless

Foreign policy changes after a Bush win in ‘92

Yeah. He had a good head for foreign policy I’d say. I think he’d have a much better policy in regards to Somalia and Rwanda. But I don’t know what his policy would be for Yugoslavia. That place was a real quagmire.
  12. AHC: The US with a high speed rail system as prolific as in East Asia or western Europe

Gas tax. The Federal Government charges 18.4 cents per gallon on gasoline and 24.3 cents per gallon for diesel. They also charge a Heavy Use Tax on any vehicle over 55,000 pounds gross registered weight. That amount varies based on the weight. But for a standard US tractor-trailer registered at...

Foreign policy changes after a Bush win in ‘92

Yeah that’s what I was thinking. Unless something happens that causes the Democrats to do really bad in that year I can’t see congress going republican.
  14. Indian Territory Independence after CSA Victory

I think it will split. The areas that supported the Union will attempt to break away from those that supported the CSA. If they are allowed to return from Kansas and Missouri at all. You are more than likely going to have some fighting as the Native Americans sort out who is in charge. Slaves...

Of lost monkeys and broken vehicles

Government instability didn't help indeed, but that didn't make the whole thing. This was hardly new to speak of as a situation under the Third Republic, and policies, especially those regarding diplomacy, were less dictated by the foreign minister than by the balance of power and the coalition...
  16. Boldly Going: A History of an American Space Station

Yeah it was never designed for that and the mirror might be sensitive to pressure changes. Best not to mess with that under any circumstances.

But everyone on the spectrum is different; I am on the spectrum as well and I have had to censor myself in the past on other websites, I behaved quite like them at the time.

    Threadmarks: Ch. 4

At the current site of Phoenix, AZ, 783 AD The man standing before Kiohor did not look that odd. He seemed no different from any of the other traders from the far south, who trekked over hundreds of miles of mountains and desert and gave up goods that no other group could make or find in...
  19. AHC: The US with a high speed rail system as prolific as in East Asia or western Europe

How are roads paid for in the US? Is there some directly linked tax, like x amount on a gallon of fuel goes directly to roads, or a slice of you vehicle registration fees?
  20. AHC: The US with a high speed rail system as prolific as in East Asia or western Europe

One of the best things visiting Japan was the JR tourist ticket. One upfront payment and you could get nearly anywhere in the country as easily as stepping onto a train. That was a real eye opener. The trains were like a scifi conveyor belt you just stepped on and went.
