  3. AHC: The US with a high speed rail system as prolific as in East Asia or western Europe

The basic idea was to have the railroads in the United States function as the other transportation modes do: private vehicles on public infrastructure. In the case of Amtrak, on most of its system, it's the other way around - public vehicles on private infrastructure - and it doesn't seem to...

Have Bedford Commercial vehicles survive to the present day.

Here's a possible timeline MAN buy GM's European truck division. With Bedford under their wing, they start to produce their range of trucks in the UK at Bedford's Luton site. The TL Series also continues to be produced until MAN's new 7.5 ton model comes out to replace their VW LT cabbed...
  6. Why are the western allies bombing civilians?

Can't argue with that really. As far as I am concerned the early to mid 20th century ran off the track with the start of WW1.

AHC: The US with a high speed rail system as prolific as in East Asia or western Europe

Funny you mention that - that was going to be one of the original plans back in the '80s and early '90s in the UK when there was talk of privatizing British Rail, IIRC. Of course, what actually happened was not that and it was a shambolic state of affairs because HM Treasury was dictating things.

  10. Foreign policy changes after a Bush win in ‘92

Colin Powell will advise Bush to avoid intervention. In fact, Powell opposed intervention in Kuwait. However, Cheney and Wolfowitz will advise Bush to intervene more. Staying out of Somalia or doubling down after the Black Hawk Down incident might send Bin Laden a different message than he got...

Yeah i can see Berlin getting close to the 10M mark, it won't be really grow more than that. I believe the entire eastern europe ITTL will have German as the second language and there will be more people there as well without Stalin's purges and no Nazi war of extermination. TTL Germany will...
  13. Kaiserreich: Legacy of the Weltkrieg

Well, in the current version of KR in HOI4, one of the focuses that you can take a Hoover before the outbreak of the Second Civil War was to try and ask the British government in-exile over in Canada to repay their WK1 war debts owed to America... Which the Canadians would of course refused to...
  14. AHC: The US with a high speed rail system as prolific as in East Asia or western Europe

Which would not be a good thing as any benefit to passenger service would be more than wiped out by higher goods prices due to increased freight charges. It might be a drag on the economy of hundreds of billions per year.

2015 marked an important year for Faeroese football: for the first time ever, thanks to recent good results, their team would qualify for the World League, entering a club many european nations had already entered, but that the Faeroese had yet to experience. Indeed, along with Luxembourg...

  18. AHC: The US with a high speed rail system as prolific as in East Asia or western Europe

I did a timeline once (it might be floating around on this site, IIRC) where a massive financial crash of the railroads (the New York Central, specifically) in the Great Depression prompted a government takeover, but of the infrastructure ONLY - the lines were in essence taken over by the...
