Se Deus quiser, há-de brilhar! - Uma História do Império Português (Updated 03/18)

I think both dispersing Valencia's Mudéjar population to other parts of Aragon and forced conversions would be better in this case, as King Enrique would want to avoid expelling them from Aragon altogether as they are an important economic asset. Enrique also has to deal with the French in...

    The VT-BAM project

Here it is for now - graticules for the Lower 48 VT-BAM. These weren't generated via QGIS, they were referenced by hand. Therefore, there will likely be some inaccuracies - if you find any, please do point them out to me. Thanks very much!
  5. Explain the AH Quote

A story from a propaganda-based novel sold in the Kingdom of Arabia regarding the death of Hussein III, the crown prince of the Saudi dynasty, as part of a novel saying the Hashemite lineage was an American puppet. The novel was sold under a subsidary of Koch Publishing After World War I, the...

  7. AHC: The US with a high speed rail system as prolific as in East Asia or western Europe

For now, I'd just skip New England altogether: it's almost twice the distance for (assuming New Haven and/or Springfield) a quarter more ridership. The NY-DC segment's the dealbreaker. Focus all the money and time on making that work, then if it does, go to Boston for Phase Two a decade-ish later.

  9. WI: Britain Keeps Michigan and Wisconsin Territory If America Still Goes Independent?

Wisconsin and Michigan seems a bit much...now Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula (basically just drawing the international border down Lake Michigan, instead of Superior), that seems better. In either case, Superior becomes a British lake, the way Michigan is an American one OTL. -The natural...
  10. Mary Tudor bears a son and lives till age 60

Well, if you subscribe to the argument made in Duffy's Fires of Faith, England probably would have been brought back into the Catholic fold. Mary (and Cardinal Pole's) policies had Catholicized the intelligentsia and clergy to an impressive degree. They showed far more resistance to Elizabeth...

    Map Thread XX

Just a bit of fun. So, this is a map of North America and Australia, but the territories that have the name of a country, a place in said country or a person in said country go to that country, example, British Columbia goes to the UK, Louisiana goes to the French as its named after one of their...

  13. AHC: The US with a high speed rail system as prolific as in East Asia or western Europe

So would you suggest moving the main body of the new England portion of the northeast corridor (green) down so it runs through new haven Connecticut and providence road island and links with the empire corridor (red) halfway? Also as a side note to your point of rails that are essentially...

Which is noticeably not Românea or similar. The word Român (and close spellings) had come to mean farmer, peasant, rather than Roman.
  15. The Last Hanover: The Life and Reign of Queen Charlotte

I suspect that "1871" here is a goof. It should be "1761" instead Enjoying the story greatly, regardless

  17. Indian Territory Independence after CSA Victory

And how would the British, or French enforce the settlement? The Union would probable end up with it, because they had more land hungry settlers, and the muscle to secure it. The settled Indians wouldn't like competing with slave labor ether. Would Indians be treated as none White free citizens...

  19. Can Persia Avoid Islam? If it Does, Can it Remain Zoroastrian?

That's a bit too late in my opinion and my point is the sassanids were on the defensive in the east since 375 or 395 AD, they lost influence in sogdia, bactria Khwarazm, eastern regions of Khorassan and Transoxiana by 484 AD they had lost thokaristan, kabulistan, zabulistan, sakastan, harey...
