  1. Mary Tudor bears a son and lives till age 60

Unlikely, as this third branch of the Habsburg would have independent rule over England and Netherlands/Burgundy. If Mary lived longer, don Carlos would marry Elisabeth of France (as was originally planned) and their heirs will inherit Spain, Portugal and Italian lands. Also the birth of a child...
  2. It's A Long Way To Nagasaki: The Anglo-Japanese War

Fair enough, but to be honest the Lwow wargames seems radically different than what should have been plausible given the POD is in late 1938. As far I can recall, you still have Beck in charge of Poland and in OTL he strove to avoid Poland becoming a satellite state of Germany throughout 1938...
  3. Pop Culture Timelines Go-To Thread

With all due respect, Cats is not the kind of work that would lend itself well to a movie adaptation. There's little plot to talk about, what exists on there is nothing more than a framing device for the musical numbers. It is an entirely sung musical, mind you. Besides, the art direction...
  4. And She Will Rise Again- A Cold War Philippines TL

That is quite a large sum of aid the Philippines is receiving. What are the deals that Roxas had to sign in order to get that kind of aid? Is it bases? Or any other things that America wants? Interesting timeline, subscribed.
  5. Alternative History Armoured Fighting Vehicles Part 3

I really like these, they look like the kind of tank I would design if I was in that position. But what sort of magic is being used here?
  6. AHC: Rename a country, that unified from a long-described region

Andalusia for modern day Spain and Portugal
  7. AHC: Rename a country, that unified from a long-described region

??? Peasant in Romanian is "Țaran" . "Țara Românească" means Land of Romanians.
  8. Why are the western allies bombing civilians?

Which is kind of my point - only making observations of the attitude of a Briton in 1850 to Imperialism or a Spaniard in 1650 to slavery may make those generalisation more accurate. Just as looking at Germans in the Nazi period may indicate that a large minority of them were content to...
  9. WI: The Ottoman Siege of Candia lasted Far Shorter than OTL

The Siege of Candia is one of the most decisive military encounter of the 17th Century between the Ottoman Empire, first under Gazi Huseyn Pasha and later by Grand Vizier Koprulu Ahmed Pasha. The siege was part of the larger Cretan War or the Fifth Ottoman-Venetian War and lasted for about 21...

The Last Hanover: The Life and Reign of Queen Charlotte

I think so, as well as the marriage for Charlotte. Happens all the time when doing alternative dates.
  11. John II, The Last Tudor King

Poor John being remembered by history as usurper.

Mary Tudor bears a son and lives till age 60

I doubt it. While Philip was co-monarch of England he never used the position IIRC. England was also to be given the modern day Netherlands too. If anything England would be more powerful and independent.

    The Plantagenet Succession

I was kind of hoping Louis XII would conquer Italy not going to lie. But other than that great update!

Why are the western allies bombing civilians?

They had prejudices, but that doesn't mean the average German supported genocide. Prejudice and bigotry is very common all over the planet and there isn't genocide happening constantly. Under your logic, the average Chinese Citizen could be blamed for what the PRC is doing to the Uighurs. The...

    The Plantagenet Succession

As said, English/British ducal titles were and are only ever entailed to the male line. I suspect they were originally intended solely for members of the royal dynasty. Earldoms could be inherited by women unless specifically entailed not to, which was rare. Ditto baronies though male only...
  17. God Owes Phillip II Twenty Bucks

You said that he was crowned by protestant priests, does it mean that France went protestant ITTL? It'd be cool to see Huguenot France and Catholic England if Henry manages to hold off against Spanish.

    Map Thread XX

Here it is for now - graticules for the Lower 48 VT-BAM. These weren't generated via QGIS, they were referenced by hand. Therefore, there will likely be some inaccuracies - if you find any, please do point them out to me. Thanks very much!
  19. DBWI Alexander III of Macedon victorious at Gaugamela

Does king Darius die in battle? If not, I'm pretty sure the Persians would simply build another army and win in the next battle thanks to having learned from their mistakes. Though suffering another defeat will mean the Persian Empire will be weaker than OTL. However should Darius die in battle...
