    WI: Hebrew goes extinct

Depends on how much the revived form cribs either off of Aramaic and/or even Arabic (Old or Classical or the early stages of Levantine/Palestinian, it doesn't matter). They all share similar phonological and grammatical structures. If even Mishnaic pronunciation could be preserved, or even a...
  2. British Empire in WW2 using colonial forces across pacific and european theatres in much larger numbers

There's a large risk in fighting a war to ensure countries have the right to determine their own fate with troops from countries you've taken that right from.
  3. WI: Hebrew goes extinct

It was, as a written language at least, in both periods (possibly more than once). It however was extinct as a natively spoken everyday language since sometime in Antiquity (precisely when is debated) and remained an exclusively liturgical and literary language for over a millennium and half at...
  4. What if the U.S. outsourced manufacturing to post-Soviet Russia instead of China?

This is an interesting WI? Maybe Russia boosts technical education to promote Intel, Motorola, etc. building factories there? The idea is that American tech companies come, and then American-style democracy.
  5. McGoverning

Certainly but it doesn't make much sense to write off the entire South, in particular when running against a proven election winner in California. However, what groups does McGovern need to win over that he underperformed well in 1972? How does George Meany and his allies in Labor view him?

AHC: The US with a high speed rail system as prolific as in East Asia or western Europe

Last train trip to Chicago from my Grandma from MN to visit in the late '60s, that was just nasty. Could hardly see thru the windows, just filthy. They were some wore out Pullmans

AHC: The US with a high speed rail system as prolific as in East Asia or western Europe

I assume the Springfield here refers to the state capitol of Illinois. In that case, my TL's Amtrak Midwest could get you to Milwaukee. Via Indianapolis and Lafayette in the case of Dayton, and via Peoria in the case of Springfield. From Cleveland, my TL's Amtrak HSR would take you via Galion...
  8. In the absence of Islam, which religion becomes the primary competitor to Christianity?

I don’t think it would be that big a deal to play around with the timing of it, or hell even change the geography to say Vandal North Africa where you have Arianism, Donatism and Berber/Punic paganism stewing together with the Germanic elements.
  9. Philip the good Loses both his sons and his wife before the treaty of arras

Philip the good OTL had 3 sons. Anthony (1430-1430) Josse (1432-1432) Charles (1434-ATL1434) What if his OTl wife Isabella of Portugal died in 1434 during the birth of Charles the bold (both dead) With both his heir and wife dead I can still see the treaty of Arras going as OTL in 1435...

A True World Cup: 24 teams at England '66
Threadmarks: 2014 FIFA World Cup Seeding and Group Stage

2014 FIFA WORLD CUP Part 1 For the first time in the history of the World Cup, the tournament was to be hosted Down Under and with the fact that Australia had experience in hosting a Rugby World Cup just over a decade ago, Australia was wanting to show the world that it could put on a...

WI: Root vs Wilson in 1912

Hmm. I think Hughes would be more acceptable to the party rank and file, not only because of his age but because he was from New York. Might you see a narrow Hughes win, followed by a Democratic victory in 1916? In fact, would Wilson even run in 1912 if it looked like yet another Republican year?
  14. AHC: Save a notorious flop

I just watched the Snyder Cut yesterday. I thought it was a literal masterpiece, and I wasn’t even a fan of Snyder’s vision for the DCEU.

    The VT-BAM project

Rivers, watersheds, topography, and counties for the Lower 48. If anyone wants to help rasterize the rivers, most of the action is happening here: https://www.alternatehistory.com/forum/threads/the-jabb-project-one-borderpool-to-rule-them-all.507167/
  16. If Britain/France vs Germany/Italy goes on for many years, what moves do the Soviets make?

No. Look here for German supply of oil: table This, too. All together 3 minutes of googling.

The JABB Project - One Borderpool to Rule Them All

The people have spoken - physical geography, here we go! If someone wants to help out by tracing some of the major rivers or drainage basins into 1px lines, it would be much appreciated!

What if the U.S. outsourced manufacturing to post-Soviet Russia instead of China?

Chinese would build to spec. From crap too nasty to sell at Harbor Freight, to the densest high tech Integrated Circuit, they could build it faster and cheaper. Russian couldn't do quality.
  19. Little Rock Nine Massacre

Oh sorry. Have to admit, that's a good idea having Bull get those men to kill them would create a race war and admittedly I'm going to put in something to explain both Canada and President Eisenhower's reactions (P.S. they're pissed off) (P.P.S. online hug <3)
