  1. “Arab spring” like uprisings in early 1980s

In your opening paragraph, are you saying that the events you mention did, in fact, "trigger a wider Islamist uprising in the Muslim world"?
  2. Little Rock Nine Massacre

...bad people. All they are concerned about is to see that their sweet little girls are not required to sit in school alongside some big black bucks.“*) P.S. I know this scenario is decidedly on the bleak side but I admit that lately I have a difficult time finding the bright aspect to much...

Remember the Rainbow Redux: An Alternate Royal Canadian Navy

I wouldn’t mind having it myself but I’d rather not think about cross country shipping on a 20ft long package :coldsweat:. It’s good to see somewhere that can properly share and enjoy such a thing to take ownership. Yes they do in fact, there will be an upcoming chapter in the future telling the...

    Little Rock Nine Massacre

@Kamenriderfan18 You might want to stop this TL right here, do a little research and try again, before CalBear has to do more than give a fairly-explicit warning about posts or threads glorifying racism.
  5. AH Timeline: The NHL-WHA merger: A different story

Whilst we wo t know for a few updates yet, is it likely that we will see a rivalry similar to the Red Wings/Avalanche one? Both for cups and on the ice? Also I’m surprised that Trump wasn’t just given a new franchise so that he could start a team in New York against the Islanders.
  6. As Dreamers Do: American Magic Redux

I think Metromedia should buy Hemdale.
  7. What would it take to remove Hitler Nazi Government in Germany after the Fall of France

The main issue with trying to remove Hitler, is that the military swore an oath of loyalty to him. They are not going to drop him after the fall of France. So Hitler has got to die for a revolution to have any chance.
  8. AHC: Defend the Falklands

The whole thing smacked of rushed improvisation... the reason why multiple air force bombs didn't go off was that the AF forgot to set the fuses to ultra-low drops, because the AF had virtually no training in anti-ship strikes...

What party would Knox & Wayne end up in?

Speaking of which, any of you have ideas on what party Anthony Wayne might end up in? He's a Pennsylvannia native so maybe Anti-Administration, he did move to Georgia afterall.

What party would Knox & Wayne end up in?

Neat! Decent idea, I was thinking of having Washington die/refuse to run and, as a result, a decent chunk of congress decide to go for the next best thing and look to the other generals left over from the revolution (bar maybe Ward who Washington condemned).
  11. What would it take to remove Hitler Nazi Government in Germany after the Fall of France

Who would need to be removed from power in Nazi Germany post fall of France but before operation Barbarossa to depose Hitler and it's top his government inhumane and war crime policies and hopefully install a German government more willing to compromise to reach a peace with western allies...
  12. The 30 mm HE shell. The ideal weapon for use by WW2 Allied fighter planes?

Roger that. I agree 100% on the .50 firing the MP (in that calibre, it feastured the tungsten core, incendiary element, and explosive element, unlike the 20m shell that was without the tungsten core) - US .50 gained a lot when the Soviet 12.7mm API bullet was copied, and .50 worked much better...
  13. Impact on Japan if the Emperor and Imperial monarchy was dismantled following WW2

It's true that at the time of the initial bombings the Atomic bomb supply was low but the US at that point feared nothing offensively from Japan. Would the US not simply ramp up production of bombs into the fall and beyond? and while the surplus Atomic bombs were being manufactured you'd...

U.S. has more successful nuclear power with waste stored on site, and therefore no transport and reduced NIMBY.

The problem with this is that while the posters are right in pointing out that plutonium is extremely difficult to make into a weapon or even a dirty bomb and that strontium and ceasium are the primary gamma-emitter problems that do decay over time, one serious problem is being forgotten with...
  15. Why are the western allies bombing civilians?

Another reason I Haven’t seen mentioned about why strategic bombing was necessary is starting as early as 1942 Stalin was putting a lot of pressure on the Wallies to open a second front and FDR and Churchill Knew I’d be a while and they had to show Stalin they were doing something and not just...

What party would Knox & Wayne end up in?

That depends on why Knox and company join politics and their interactions with Hamilton or Adams but I don't think they would try and take over the party, I reckon they would be the "neutral leaders" and basically would be the adults in the room, keeping Hamilton and Adams working together maybe...

Trying to Please Everyone: Or Converting multiple Pop Culture Utopias into a Timeline.

America entered World War I earlier leading to victory around 1917 or so. For Russia I imagine the Assassination of Tsar Alexander did not happen in 1881, as Alexander wanted to reform the country to give the people more power, likely leading to something closer to a constitutional Monarchy...
  18. Germans Take Ypres, 1916

From Mont Sorrel to the centre of Ypres is about 5 km. To take Ypres, that's a bit more. Now that doesn't sound like much, but to take that amount of ground in 1916 was quite a lot and required a major offensive. Which this wasn't.
  19. Alternate Wikipedia Infoboxes VI (Do Not Post Current Politics or Political Figures Here)

Experimenting with the mechanisms of a quasi-democratic USSA. The second box is a WIP, I need to fix the labels and flag. My idea was that population segments of 30,000 are governed by Soviets and these units elect delegates to attend the Supreme Soviet, where a Chairman is elected to preside...
