  1. List of Alternate Monarchs and Aristocratic Lineage

It doesn't. But Isabel Clara Eugenia was named after St. Eugenius and St. Claire of Assisi afterher mother prayed to them for a successful pregnancy. Another half-Habsburg princess at the time was named after her mom cried out to said saint while giving birth (think it was Anna of Austria with...
  2. AHC: is it feasible if the world started diversfying away from fossil fuels much earlier

Solar-thermal uses mirrors, not PV, so 'broken panels' would be fairly minimal, other than direct sabotage. His original plant was used to pump water to cotton-fields.

Jasper Tudor had children. The effects?

Maybe if they make port colonies designed for trade they could succeed?
  4. Jasper Tudor had children. The effects?

They might try that, but it might not last long since Brittany's resources pale compare that to England and France. I'm figuring that it would end up like the Scottish venture into the New World, which bankrupted Scotland to the point where they had to agree to the Act of Union of 1707. But in...

As Dreamers Do: American Magic Redux

Will the FHE home video release of the movie still have a certain little league baseball/Pizza Hut commecial in front of it?
  6. WI Market-Garden is a success?

They still need to clear the Scheldt estuary to open Antwerp for supplies. I think by the same token securing the coasts of the Netherlands to relieve the supply bottleneck will be necessary.

AHC/WI Reversed Cold War: Democratic Russia, Totalitarian America

Frankly, I would say October revolution is too late. Kerensky would get removed by either the left or rigt, neither of which had much intention to tolerate the other's existence, and would quite likely spirall into civil war, which would likely result in either a much weakened Russia, a...

    Threadmarks: Smith and Johnson

James Skivring Smith: 1871 - The Scapegoat Smith was born in South Caroline, one of seven children to a family of free blacks, but moved to Liberia with his parents at the age of eight. Like many families, the arrival was not a happy one, both of the elder Smiths died of Malaria within their...
  9. Discussion: What if Edmund, Earl of Rutland survives Wakefield?

If Edmund manages to survive Wakefield, I do not see much happening in regards to Edward IV progression as in OTL, especially his marriage to the Woodvilles. However, the main issue is who Edmund will marry himself. With both George and Richard not being close to the inner circle as in OTL...
  10. WI Market-Garden is a success?

They will still have supply issues. They also have a salient that will make the Germans come to attack. Were do the Brits go after Arnhem? Strike west to liberate the rest of Holland or north/northeast?
  11. AHC - Get the USA to intervene militarily in the Iranian Revolution

It wasn't specified in which context the US intervenes. Even a hostage liberation is a military intervention if done by the marines.

An Age of Miracles Continues: The Empire of Rhomania

Yeah a lot of the rest could be justified as an adaptation to trench warfare. A more practical helmet and another pauldron on the other shoulder, along with painting the metal bits so they don't stick out so bad and you could reasonably call it good protection against shrapnel from above. That...
  14. Gary Seven-based Star Trek spinoff replaces TNG

Teri Garr was reportedly offended by Roddenberry commenting on the size of the skirt she was wearing, according to one of the Roddenberry biographies published after his death
  15. Jasper Tudor had children. The effects?

Probably with England backing them and Henry VIII's naval initiatives, he and his Tudor cousin will push for Brittany to become more into English trade, which means a process towards urbanization in Brittany (as the region was mostly rural prior to French exploration) and Brittany developing its...
  16. WI: Spain turns the Philippines into a Settler Colony?

I can't tell if the 2nd part is a joke or not, with what's been happening in places like Myanmar and China right now and all that. I appreciate the complement, though.

Why are the western allies bombing civilians?

Think about the lunatic Germans who used up to 10% of their railroad rolling stock, 9% of their petrochemical industry and 10% of their combat capable pool of human beings to MURDER "undesirables" and "race enemies". The Russians are "sane" by comparison. I cannot think of any regime which...
  18. WI Market-Garden is a success?

The British will be stopped on the Ems, on the Weser or the Elbe, two weeks or one month later... And the conquest of Western Germany will be a north to south offensive... Germany will need to take troops from another front to prevent too much Vaterland being conquered by the British so I...
  19. An Age of Miracles Continues: The Empire of Rhomania

The helmet could be more practical, yes, but the height is just a nuisance and might be useful if it lets the user stick the point into the ground to hold it in place for washing or shaving. The nose guard could be useful and it looks like it is designed to fit with a gas mask that looks...
  20. AHC: is it feasible if the world started diversfying away from fossil fuels much earlier

That’s not a problem here; suburbia and greener energy are compatible. You just want fuel efficient or electric cars at some point. Suburban homes have much more roof space for solar panels too to diversify the electric supply.
