  1. A Hippie in the House of Mouse (Jim Henson at Disney, 1980)

Well, I don't think she'd necessarily be dead, since youkai live in the spirit world and aren't really dead, just not human. But I could see Western audiences interpreting things that way, so you make a good point. I mostly wanted to give her continued access to the spirit/youkai world a sense...
  2. Boldly Going: A History of an American Space Station

Long time lurker here, finally created an account to say that you're all doing an outstanding job with this one. Designing space stations is my full time job and it's cool to see you making all the right decisions. ~radishes

    Earlier use of Tall Boys

Edit: I realized what he meant by Tallboy later on, so take the following as extraneous to the thread. A little bit of radiation in the area, but other than that, nothing. The thing about a city versus a fortification line is that the former is a.) compact, b.) high-value, c.) high-density...
  4. Tiberius Gracchus - More Successful?

Perhaps, the events that led up to the end of the Roman Republic (and the rise of the Roman Empire) would be butterflied, and we could see an increasingly democratic Roman Republic spread democratic ideals to the rest of the known world? I'm not much of an expert on Roman history, though. Could...

A Hippie in the House of Mouse (Jim Henson at Disney, 1980)

Maybe she lives in both worlds. When she sleeps in our world she awakes in the Spirit World and vice versa. I kinda don't like the idea of her staying in the Spirit World, it means she's dead and that's kinda sad.
  6. Earlier use of Tall Boys

This might be ASB or unrealistic, but let's give it a shot. The RAF is persuaded to use 2 Tallboys each on each of the Normandy beaches against the known defenses. How does this impact the landings?

    English Canada/French Carolina: A Timeline

What about the Shiites in the oil-producing regions

Why are the western allies bombing civilians?

I think so. If nothing else, Bomber Command does need to justify its existence and budget. People would be screaming for it to do something, and this is something. We are talking about the British Empire here, an evil regime in its own right. It's just that the British Empire was fortunate...

More Helicopter/light carriers in post ww2 period

Thailand operates a helicopter carrier, officially for disaster relief operations, and also as a royal yacht. So we could also look at possibilities from an expensive dedicated disaster relief angle. But also from the filthy rich angle.
  10. A Hippie in the House of Mouse (Jim Henson at Disney, 1980)

And a majority of those impacts would be for the better.
  11. A Hippie in the House of Mouse (Jim Henson at Disney, 1980)

So does this mean the anime boom in the West happens a decade early? That could have massive impacts on everything from Akira to Dragonball/Dragonball Z
  12. Impact on Japan if the Emperor and Imperial monarchy was dismantled following WW2

That is a lot of hope there. TBH I think the post-WW2 era had a greater chance of being worse than it was then better.
  13. Sārthākā

The Revenge of the Crown : An Alternate 1812 and Beyond.

He makes a small mistake in the Britain wins scenario. Britain was intent on locking the Americans out of the Great lakes except Erie. Britain would certainly annex those lands. Also a revaunchist America is the single most cliche thing ever.
  14. DBWI: Alexander dies in 323 BC?

If Alexandros would had died 30 years earlier than in OTL he probably wouldn't had yet managed stabilise his empire and his sons owuld hadn't yet reached the age. This might cause massive succession crisis if not civil war. This might give Carthage or Rome chance take their control over Center...
  15. More Helicopter/light carriers in post ww2 period

I would think most of them would be Commencement Bay escort carriers as all 19 completed survived the war, not that they saw much action.
  16. More Helicopter/light carriers in post ww2 period

Aircraft carriers are the preserve of 'blue water' navies. None of those listed would want to operate independent naval forces at ranges well beyond the range of land based aircraft. Egypt for example would have to want to operate in the western Mediterranean and Indian Ocean to justify a carrier.
  17. Sports What Ifs.

So lets say in 1959 that Lamar Hunt is able to buy the Cardinals. He moves them in 1960 to Dallas Texas to the Cotton Bowl where they become the Dallas Texans. Meanwhile in 1961 the NFL decides to plan an expansion with the Minnesota Vikings (same as OTL) and playing in the Astrodome, the...
  18. Impact on Japan if the Emperor and Imperial monarchy was dismantled following WW2

    - Japan had undergone dictatorship in 1920s-1945, so hopefully its not need to undergo such thing again - SK and Taiwan had fought Internal War, Japan did not. - In Economy and Cultural matters, SK and Taiwan follows Japan by two decades, so hopefully Japan could gain Democracy faster -...

...things I've got left are Indonesia, a couple more Native American tribal confederacies, some inset maps for greater detail on particular regions*, numbered points of interest, and, maybe, a halfway decent writeup. *Currently planning on covering New France (provinces, languages, and maybe...
