Why are the western allies bombing civilians?

Bombing was quite ineffective at killing specific people. They can scatter, get into basements, etc. And if bombing continues, they could just build a bunker.

For All Mankind (AH Tv series at Apple TV)

I like Episode 6 It was sometime hysterical funny and ended in strange cliffhanger do i have the impression Gordo get thinner ?

True. OTOH, a bigger turret (especially a heavily armoured one) is a heavier turret, and excess weight is something you really want to avoid, as it compromises your speed and mobility.
  4. As Dreamers Do: American Magic Redux

So, will this idea be a mixture of The Loud House and Foe Paws? Just asking with such a vague suggestion.
  5. AHC/WI: WWII Axis Commando Raids in the Western Hemisphere?

We had a thread about that not so long ago https://www.alternatehistory.com/forum/threads/axis-raid-on-british-guyana-ww2.502264/ Turns out, even if successful, it probably won’t have that much affect on the War.
  6. What if the Soviet Union never existed?

The founding of the Soviet Union was THE event of the 20th Century. The rest of the 20th Century was consumed by the reaction to the Soviet Union. Without the Soviet Union, world history will be very different
  7. Earlier use of Tall Boys

Taking out the Hillman redout with a concentrated Tall boy attack early on the 4th of June has real potential for big butterflies. As already stated the possibility of getting British tanks into Caen by nightfall becomes a distinct possibility.
  8. What if the Soviet Union never existed?

...the German Right and was not dependent on the existence of the USSR. Fascism may or not be "better" then OTL; in particular I'd be worried about a *Fascist Russia. tl;dr: The POD isn't very plausible and the implications drawn from it seem to be very much a best case scenario rather than an...

Or one of the Cruiser turrets? And why too big? Its not like the Armour car has to worry about the turret overhanging the tracks as the wheel as forward and rear of that area which is a problem with the continuous track system of a tank.
  10. AHC: Rename a country, that unified from a long-described region

Turkey could very easily have used Rum as it's endonym, given that Anatolia was always called Rum in the persianate world up until the 19th century.
  11. AHC: competent Red Army by 1939

Its not just the army that got purged it was pretty much every part of society For example one of the reasons Soviet aircraft where shit relative to the German planes in WW2 is their top designers were chopping trees in Siberia (if lucky) or fertilising them and they spent the rest of the war...
  12. Sir John Valentine Carden survives.

The Valiant has a 60" turret, that's too big for an armoured car. You'd IMO be better off with the Matilda II turret.
  13. What if the Greek Revolution failed?

Let's say they put it during their civil war and help the pro ottoman side. Nothing of value was loss, plus ottoman greeks where very loyal subjects, if anything make europe looks more like vulture and hyenas
  14. Charlamagne dies in the winter of 771-2

Probably somebody takes over. There were many candidates.
  15. AHC: competent Red Army by 1939

No, it is not necessarily and this is very much one of the reasons why the Soviet expansion was such a mess: the appropriate logistical and training expansions didn't commence until after they were well into the expansion of the field forces. By the time they did start appropriately expanding...
  16. More Helicopter/light carriers in post ww2 period

Mexico and Columbia fall under the "Budget" issue. Anti-piracy needs some 1,000-2,000 ton corvettes with helo capability. Way more coverage, always have a ship on patrol, 1/10 the cost. If the Argentinian Navy had a helo carrier it would have hauled ass back to port, the way their CATOBAR...

You could build a bigger tank with the Mollins 6-pdr sorta-pom-pom... Or mounting multiple 2-pdrs
  18. As Dreamers Do: American Magic Redux

How about this for the third Nicktoon: A family of cats.

AHC: competent Red Army by 1939

-is part and parcel of expansion... The Soviet Union was late, starting even later won't help.
  20. Proposals and War Aims That Didn't Happen Map Thread

Seems like the Allies were all about carving up that Turkey. Hiyoooo!
