I think you've got it reversed - Thande's is a reversal of the Canadian national anthem. The "true North, strong and free" is one the verses.
  2. Earlier use of Tall Boys

There's nothing wrong with over kill when Nazis are on the other end. I would have preferred dropping 20 grand slams on the Ridgeline overlooking Omaha Beach and then bathing what was left in napalm but we were not given that option Besides the MG-42 was a fearsome weapon the men on the...
  3. Crazy sequels that never happened: what if they did?

I mean it actually wouldn't be that hard, most of the plot and setting were original to the movie. Just replace "mutants" with "Replicants", given there are off world colonies in Blade Runner.
  4. A more realistic (IMO) AHC: US Metro/Regional Transit as good as in Europe.

Actually in sense they did have to get goverment approval for many things like abandonment's of lines and where limited in how much they could charge for services. It wasn't until 1980 with a major relaxation of regulations that railroads had full control over their operations.

Caught between the Bear and the Rooster (Stalin invades Germany 1940)

I disagree. Stalin was clearly sane. He had a serious case of paranoia and the whole premise for his actions was fundamentally flawed. He was a sane fanatic, insofar that he pursued his insane goals logically.

Caught between the Bear and the Rooster (Stalin invades Germany 1940)

Just as with Hitler, you can't really pull the card of mental illness/insanity to justify implausible outcomes. Especially when there really isn't any clinical grounds to call him insane. If he was an insane lunatic out of touch with reality, there's no way he could have held such a tight grip...

  10. Crazy sequels that never happened: what if they did?

YES, specially how they duct tape it together

Even then it better be much, much cheaper than today in real dollars. I can't see Congress handing out 50,000 2021 real dollars per passenger per year so Michael in NJ can see his kid 1/2 hour more a day.

Ouch! I went to Junior High at Ft Lauderdale naval air station location in the 50s...There was a used fighter plane dealer out by the airport entrance on Federal Hwy, and numbers of WWII birds all over the place. Droop Snoot 38 for a couple of days, even...

Spain, November 1934 Spanish troops under general Francisco Franco, brought down the last rebels in Asturias putting a formal end to the Spanish Left's uprising. Franco had taken a gamble in demanding , the release of officers imprisoned after the 1932 coup to support the government but it had...

AHC: Make Morocco part of "Europe" to an extent, like Turkey or Russia, with a POD past 1500 AD

But we dealing with a fundamental change in attitude of European Christian countries vs a muslim Country. It would need to be modern in language, customs and laws. To be part of EU it needs to be Democracy also. Look at what is happening in turkey they are sliding further away from west with...

I'm curious, what is the list of films in the Disney Animated Canon ITTL? From my brief inspection into all the threadmarks it should be at about 32 films assuming Black Cauldron counts. Even if it doesn't that's an impressive 5 movies more than the OTL Disney Animated Canon. (As of March 1986...
  19. Was it surprising Argentina didn't become a decent size power or at least a dominant economy?

The US$ lasts about 18 months.:eek: And millions of new notes, which cost more to print than they're worth,:eek::perservingface: are printed each year. I've heard numbers as high as 20yr.
