  1. Pop Culture Oneshot Scenarios

One timeline I would like to see is a Sony fails to break through with the PlayStation and transitions back into chip support a la NEC.

    The Forge of Weyland

Weren't they also part of the 1918 mutiny, or were they involved with putting the mutiny down?

A Hippie in the House of Mouse (Jim Henson at Disney, 1980)

Magic Kingdom should be relatively easy since it's a park that has a ton of space. It can support a larger amount of rides and lands than Disneyland, considering how Muppetland was easily built there while it would be easy to inject a Totoro ride or a smaller Thomas ride into a Fantasyland...

    The Forge of Weyland

They were probably going to arrive on the beach first thing in the morning and dig a bunch of holes in the sand.
  5. Keep the Essex class as a strike carrier

It was. It also sharply reduced their top speed because the Spey is descended from a subsonic engine and so doesn't handle supersonic speeds well.

    Sir John Valentine Carden survives.

Good enough now beats better later. But in this TL with the valiant the Grant/lee production can be discontinued earlier as originally planned and Sherman can be earlier.
  7. The Forge of Weyland

They had some naval troops in world war one and before but it was only a few companies I think.
  8. For All Mankind (AH Tv series at Apple TV)

Honestly, I’m not a fan of either of the romantic plots this episode. Jerking Pam around after a decade and saying ‘I’m ready now!’ is dickish behavior. So is dropping the sudden divorce on Larry—if there’s any media attention whatsoever on her, it’s highly unlikely that Larry can escape being...
  9. Why are the western allies bombing civilians?

What exactly do you picture the nazis doing when they hear Auschwitz is damaged? "Man I really wanted to kill you, but now I can't. Now I even need to continue feeding you until the gas chambers work again!" The industrialized killing was convinience for the nazis, not requirement. They...
  10. Kaiserreich: Legacy of the Weltkrieg

Vehicles are fairly easy to adapt for many factions. I've been looking at Copplestone, who have some pretty neat interwar Chinese and Russians. Their gangsters could be great militiamen (and mobsters) for any US faction too. The problem is more professional US troops.
  11. AHC: Help with rules for a fictional sport

Oh, well. Just idle curiosity anyhow. ;)
  12. Photos from Featherston's Confederacy/ TL-191

The more you try to suppress something, the more it fights back. That's just how human nature is. Remember, the US was still worried about what Japan would do, and they were suspicious about the relationship between themselves and Germany. The most that the US Occupation and Integration...
  13. Ottoman Empire & Austria-Hungary collapse naturally?

I watched this video, and I don't think he considers enough butterflies. If he is right, for example, that the lack of Ottoman participation ends the war significantly earlier, then there won't be a Russian civil war for the Ottomans to exploit. If the Tsarist regime or the provisional...
  14. The Forge of Weyland

The Germans didn't have any marines, so the troops normally used for this type of activity seems to have been their mountain troops

I think you meant the voice of Mr. Conductor and not Thomas.
  16. Was it surprising Argentina didn't become a decent size power or at least a dominant economy?

You may be right. I've heard the budget for the dollar bill is about 80% of the total for the Bureau of Printing & Engraving. (Warning: recall may be faulty here, too.)
  17. Pop Culture Oneshot Scenarios

On a way the concept evolved with time but the ideas was there plus and thanks for the kudos two timeline I helped with (P2S and OS)
  18. The Forge of Weyland

I wonder how many battalions remain in the 7th Para and the 22nd Air Landing. In TTL they lost also the battalions landed south of Rotterdam as well. Another bridge too far perhaps? I am under the impression that sending the mountain troops via sea like that is taken from the OTL Battle of...
  19. The Forge of Weyland

There is, but at the moment both sides are trying for maximum air effort, so unless an aircraft type gets really bad losses they will keep sending them out, and the Army are quite insistant about their support needs
  20. Sir John Valentine Carden survives.

Makes sense but hopefully not going to be a problem.
