    God Save These American States

So Wanted to give an Update. The next chapter for this story will hopefully be out tomorrow or Monday (maybe tonight but it will be pushing it). I got on a Roll with the update for my post 1900 TL and one update turned into two. And this update is being difficult and not wanting to take shape in...

Without the Ottomans, what happens to the Mamluks?

Whomever unites Anatolia, let alone conquers the Eastern Balkans as well will face the Mamluks. As long as Anatolia is fragmented the Mamluks are sort of fine. The Safavids (if not butterflied away) do not have the forces to destroy the Mamluks althoug the warfare between them will destroy Syria...

1901 and Going Up (A Collaborative TL)

Also have to note that the baseball team will remain the Athletics. Though they might not stay in Philly in a few years...(I am probably moving the Athletics around 1905 but not the Eagles. Maybe Minnesota? Los Angeles? Hartford?)
  4. Have Triumph Motors continue to be a viable company up to the present day.

Although I guess if Ford had MG via Aston, that might create problems vis a vis their relationship with Mazda at the time who were just about to produce the MX5.
  5. An Alternate 1989 NFL Draft

NFL NEWS & NOTES: NOV. 30, 1993 The NFL has announced that Baltimore, Maryland has been awarded the 30th NFL expansion team, and will begin play in 1995. That turned out to be the first surprise. St. Louis seemingly had it in the bag, but ownership turmoil has let them out in the cold...

    Ottomans in CP Victory?

I have seen such topics so much I'll keep it short... Victory in 1915? - Cyprus, Kuwait and Qatar gained from the UK - Kars Oblast from Russia - Abolition of capitulations Victory post-1915? - Status Quo of 1914 probably (in exchange for the Germans not mauling France, far more valuable than...

What happens if Rock Island chooses the Christie Route to American armor for WWII?
Threadmarks: This is the BT option in action.

IMO, the Russians stumbled into the right tank, but they still did not know how to use it in 1940. Here is the Christie 1932 in action.

    AHC: Save a notorious flop

-Have all the meddling executives be fired or something. -Make Mr. Freeze more like TAS or Rotwang from Metropolis. Cast Patrick Stewart, Gary Oldman, Jeff Goldblum, or maybe even Bruce Willis. - Eliminate BINO (Bane in name only). Or at the very least substitute an older, inferior Bat...

What happens if Rock Island chooses the Christie Route to American armor for WWII?

The thing is that the Americans really looked at the system and they rejected it. But, what if they had not? The route from the Model 1932 to the BT-7 is obvious. (See next post.) So speculate, how US development might have changed? -Less machine gun dacca. -A true armored cavalry...

What if the Greek Revolution failed?

You can see it as a 'punishment' or trying to break the morale or whatever. There could be many more people considered as accountable. Gregory too? Sure. But his execution was pointless and harmful. A banishment to Mount Athos would have worked out better.

Until Every Drop of Blood Is Paid: A More Radical American Civil War

I mean we don't really know if he was like the hottest guy when he was younger and not bald, also his wife looks kinda cute so probably she gets it from her mother. There's also a joke about dicks and pencils.
  12. WI: The Enterprise completes its five year mission (Star Trek survives for 5 seasons)
Threadmarks: Chapter 74: July and August 1972

Two month update today. I'll have a pretty decent Roddenberry segment, a piece on Nixon-Muskie, a Vietnam development, and the investigation into Agnew's kickbacks in Baltimore is stalled. Gene Roddenberry at a New York Star Trek convention, July 1972: It is wonderful to speak with thousands...

Those are the same. Aq Qoyunlu is White Sheep while Qara Qoyunlu is Black Sheep.
  14. Have Triumph Motors continue to be a viable company up to the present day.

I agree the SD1 was more fitted to Triumph than Rover. Everyone says how similar it is to the Ferrari Daytona but it’s eerily similar to the BMC/Pininfarina Berlinetta 1800...miles away from, say, a P6. I guess I would scrap the Triumph sports cars and let Triumph be the BL standard bearer in...

As Dreamers Do: American Magic Redux

...the chance... Maybe it would be best for them to outsource ideas from fans? Like actually say flat out "We got nothin'...at least nothin' good. The best we came up with was *describes the plot of H2:tQ*, and even we know that's crap." Cue a flood of suggestions that actually result in a good...
  16. Bush Jr Daughters Join the Military

We had two draft dodgers in Bush and Cheney and it had no real inpact on public opinion. I don't see having Bush's, or for that matter Cheney's, kids in the military having any real impact.
  17. Without the Ottomans, what happens to the Mamluks?

Some go as far as to say that mameluks egypt economy was so bad it was basically de facto a economical colony in many aspects of the italian merchant Republics
  18. Have Triumph Motors continue to be a viable company up to the present day.

MG would have to go, it was using Spitfire engines in the midget towards the end and it should have died off then. Always had an anorak image of a pretend sportscar in the 70s when Triumphs were winning rallies and the touring car championship.
  19. Heavy frigates compared to Razees

My understanding has been that the American heavy frigates generally were similar in size, if not a little larger, to the 74 gun ships razeed to frigates, and that they compared fairly well to Razees in general, probably being a little faster if a little less nimble while being mildly better...
