  1. Berlin Contengency or War on the Autobahn

The maps are terrible. If I am not very much mistaken, it shows the current Autobahn grid, and not one from the 1960s.

    Miscellaneous >1900 (Alternate) History Thread

Any time lines with an invasion of the DEI by anyone other than Japan? Between 1900-1940 ideally Could the UK and France invade?
  3. AHC/WI Reversed Cold War: Democratic Russia, Totalitarian America

I still think that an unstable France, a starving Germany, a glory-seeking Italy, and an expansionist Japan would be prime points for conflict. But do you have any details in mind on what this multipolar world would look like?
  4. Fumbling through the Wilderness - a TL from 1918

Asquith's attitude and refusal to show more punch certainly didn't help, hence his early removal here. But you've hit on the problem the Independent Liberals have - they are a small group that really won't make any difference in the long run unless they reunite with the rest of the Liberals...
  5. AHC: Create an exotic party system

I think Federalist survival scenarios are really interesting 🤔 in my hybrid scenario described above I thought that if Hamilton was president instead of Madison and he was able to negotiate his way out of the War of 1812 that could result in an Era of Good Feelings that was Federalist instead of...
  6. East first! Europe after a German / CP victory in 1916

Well... For one thing, more of the German army is in the East in this timeline... For another, the French only have about 190 miles of front to defend, instead of the 400+ of our timeline. And a lot of that front has extensive pre-war fortifications (cf. especially the Verdun-Toul zone).
  7. Napoleon invades Greece instead of Egypt?

Still. Would make for an interesting thing to talk about. Ottoman power would probably have been deeply cut down. Meanwhile, in Egypt the Mamluk rule would still be strong so no Muhammad Ali Pasha. A lot of things would change. I could easily see a sister Republic being set up under a...
  8. Alternate Wikipedia Infoboxes VI (Do Not Post Current Politics or Political Figures Here)

More wikiboxes from my Decembrist Victory TL. Same wolrd as these: Europe in 1840 First Russian Republic Mikhail Orlov, Head of the Russian State Alexander, prince-consort of the UK Second French Republic August V of Poland, Konstantin Fredrik I of Finland, Friedrich Eugen of Livonia Liberation...
  9. What if Cao Cao won?

Wei dynasty would replace later Jin and Tang. Sima Yi never rises to power most likely
  10. AHC: Save a notorious flop

Shouldn>'t be to hard. The books aren't that bad. Only outdated. Hubbard wanted to write a big saga based on the golden age of science fiction. But in 1980 that was long gone. And it isn't aging well either. Maybe have it made earlier and witha young Tom Cruise as Johnny Goodboy Tyler ...
  11. Caught between the Bear and the Rooster (Stalin invades Germany 1940)

If Stalin thought that he was going to be attacked, he would stop the commercial agreements that were signed in August and September of 1939. Then the Germans would be in trouble economically with the Allied blockade and the cut off of trade from the East. So there’s not going to be a Soviet...

AHC: Wank the McDonnell F-4 Phantom II

What about re-engining the Phantom with the Pratt & Whitney PW1120? Having 70% parts commonality with the Pratt & Whitney F100 would make it an excellent upgrade to customers that also use the F-15 and F-16 alongside the Phantom (such as Israel, Japan, South Korea, and Turkey). All this really...
  13. WI: The Enterprise completes its five year mission (Star Trek survives for 5 seasons)

As for The Animated Series ITTL, Takei will be unavailable because he's a political figure, and Nichols will be unavailable for the first three episodes but then appear occasionally because she is on Broadway. Nichols will record her Uhura parts from New York for the duration of the series when...
  14. Alternate 'Battle of Midway': RN instead of USN, what's the result?

Doesn't this apply to the USN at Midway too? Admittedly less so than for the RN, though. The thing about Midway is that it demonstrated that the IJN could not effectively defend its own carrier fleet. It lacked the ability to detect an incoming attack and the command and control to intercept it...
  15. A Hippie in the House of Mouse (Jim Henson at Disney, 1980)

There's no reason that there couldn't be a non-canon crossover comic published at some point. At this point, most major IPs have crossed over in comics. And there should definitely be a proper Ghostbusters ride in one of Disney's future lands/parks. Like a version of the Universal MIB ride...

More Helicopter/light carriers in post ww2 period

You are a little behind the curve, currently the Greek 10 year bonds are selling at 0.85% yield, when the US 10 year bonds are at 1.68% :p http://www.worldgovernmentbonds.com/
  17. Independent Schleswig after WWI

My general thought here to the identity issue is that Schleswig was more complex than when we see it first. There was in reality several important groups. First we had the two big identity groups Danes and Germans (who we will ignore right now as they're the mainline), identity Danes likely...
  18. Napoleon invades Greece instead of Egypt?

All of Napoleon's schemes directed against the Ottoman space were gratuitous, ill-thought out, and "far-fetched" with only speculative benefits.
  19. AHC: Wank the McDonnell F-4 Phantom II

There was a proposal I think to create a sort of "Super Recon F4" with much more powerful engines for the "Run like hell while the camera's snap" role. Sort of like a American version of the recon variants of the Mig-25. I suppose sort of like a cheaper version of the SR-71.
