  1. Who would win in a duel? The IJN Yamato or the USS Montana?

True, but if one looks a bit deeper things get a lot less clear. The striking velocity of the round was 2,500 fps. That is literally point blank range, round straight out of the barrel less than 1,000 yards distant. At the probably combat distance of 15,000 yards the striking velocity will have...
  2. Without the Ottomans, what happens to the Mamluks?

At this point the Byzantines are the Morea and Constantinople. As I recall there was a mamluk sultanate in Delhi which collapsed. The Mamluks were a classic warrior aristocracy and prone to a lot of the same pitfalls. As I recall they also had their own issues given the power structures...

Halych is not lost - a ukrainian timeline
    Threadmarks: Halych not lost

On 1323, Dmitro Dedko would deny Boleslaw Yuri his own claims to the lands of Galicia Volhynia after the deaths of his own half-brothers, which would mean that the land of Galicia Volhynia or Halych-Volyn would remain independent against the Poles despite its weakened disposition it would...
  4. What if the Greek Revolution failed?

And how many such movements did you have on the Anatolian side led by elites and Sufi shaikhs- I'd be willing to bet the numbers aren't particularly different. Sure, if the critical mass needed for a revolt is achieved, it's generally local elites or people with religious charisma that end up...
  5. AHC Crusader States survive longer

Avoid any of the endless regencies that plagued the land, have a healthy and adult Baldwin IV with ties with one of the christian houses în the region (Cilian Armenia, Byzantine Empire). Avoid blatant expansionism for which there were few resources and concentrate on keeping Syria and Egypt...
  6. What if the Greek Revolution failed?

I think the Jews of the Ottoman Empire were the Jews of the Ottoman Empire.
  7. Bahadur Shah Zafar, Last Mughal Emperor aids the British in 1857

Zafar had absolutely zero power at the time- any attempt at resisting the rebels would lead to his murder/ effective imprisonment and replacement with a more willing prince. As I recall the rebels got as far as tugging Zafar's beard. Much less control the city, Zafar didn't even have full...
  8. The Bear and Eagle on the Nineveh Plains -- an alt-Middle East Collaborative Timeline

May 1993:Space Shuttle Endeavour flies the STS-58 servicing mission to the Hubble Space Telescope, installing the COSTAR adaptive optics package and overhauling the telescope’s cameras. August 1993:The American Mars Observer and Russian Phobos 3 and 4 missions arrive at the Red Planet. Over...

What if the Greek Revolution failed?

You had what a few dozen uprisings and full out revolts between 1463 and 1787? All of them were due to endemic banditry... by the local Greek elites and clergy usually leading said uprisings? :p
  11. More Than A Feeling

1901 and Going Up (A Collaborative TL)

I plan on sabotaging the PBL. The league will underperform with most people being Dodgers fans. Vernon and Sacramento end up folding after the first season and the entire league is put into jeopardy,
  12. More Than A Feeling

1901 and Going Up (A Collaborative TL)

There are rumors that the Denver might leave the Mountain League and join the MBL. I am hearing that it is their goal to become a MBL team.
  13. What would the British do if German tanks roll into Dunkirk? (no halt order)

This did happen, pretty much as you describe. For instance, on the 29th, the destroyers Wakeful was sunk by an S-boat, adn teh destroyer Grafton by a U-boat shortly thereafter. But, as you point out, this didn't have much effect on the overall success of the operation.

A New World Wreathed in Freedom - An Argentine Revolution TL

That it can lol. Thought there might be interest in the actual list of parties, I've spoilered it due to size (there's a lot of parties, it's a bit indulgent but I am a poli-sci student).

Triumph of the House of Orange - An alternate Dutch War of Independence

I highly approve of the title. ;) This looks like an interesting read, I'll be sure to check in on this by next update.
  16. A Hippie in the House of Mouse (Jim Henson at Disney, 1980)

I think there would be room for more Disneytowns in Milwaukee, WI, Atlanta, GA, Portland, OR, Phoenix, AZ, Miami, FL, San Jose, CA, Dallas, TX, and possibly Spokane, WA.
