  1. A Hippie in the House of Mouse (Jim Henson at Disney, 1980)

I just realized something. Despite building and hyping the idea of a M*A*S*H parody starring Mickey and Kermit, we forgot to give it a name to differentiate it from the original show. For once, I'll let you guys come up with ideas. I can't be the only contributor to such an off-the-wall...

God love the Horton brothers, but their flying wings would have killed more of their own crews than they ever could kill enemies.

  7. Napoleon, instead of invading Egypt to get to India, disembarks his troops onto Egypt and pays for some ships to get to India

It what they did or tried to do. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Franco-Indian_alliances I had this Idea that if napoleon could somehow reach India with 15,000 men, he would land at Mysore, join forces with Tipu Sultan and reverse EIC gains in India. Problem is getting the troops safely and well...
  8. East first! Europe after a German / CP victory in 1916

Indeed, but an interesting ATL might involve one of the puppet partner countries with a globally competitive industry as a means of giving the Germans grief, especially if their homegrown equivalent simply isn't up to spec. Or worse, if someone out-Germans the Germans - Hungary in basic...
  9. Fact Check Article: Prototype Nazi Nuclear Bombers Were Within a Few Months of Hitting New York

Forgive me if my earlier statement of Moe Berg sounded condescending. I did not mean to imply he was unintelligent. Far from it. All that I meant was would he be able to determine how much progress Dr. Heisenberg had made by a single lecture and not being versed in nuclear physics?

...themes and criticism of the U.S. military from comedy/parody on top of its mature realism, but one with seriously good payoff as a universally loved series like M*A*S*H if done well. I wish Disney could pitch ideas like these again, but they're too corporate to take huge risks like these.

Why are the western allies bombing civilians?

Or he was looking for a bunch of volunteers to wage war on behalf of the Eastern Emperor, partially to try and smooth over major political troubles between them from three decades before, and the massive number of people was a complete and utter shock. Any analysis of Urban's speech requires...
  12. Alternate 'Battle of Midway': RN instead of USN, what's the result?

More or less, tho when you are down to one or two carriers & a BB its difficult to form large TF. Post Midway the carriers were getting thinned out.
  13. The World of Turtledove's In the Presence of Mine Enemies

The difference being, though, that the Jan 6thers were mostly those on the "outside," not being part of the apparatus of state power. ITTL, those unhappy with the winds of change are more likely to be the old guard. If anything, we are looking at an event similar to what happened in Berlin in...

These Fair Shores: The Commonwealth of New England

Connecticut Labour is fairly left-wing. Loyalville itself is primarily an industrial town along the river, along with Derby across the river, the two towns still produce a very large variety of goods, and the population are mostly left-wing voting union members. Only on the ourskirts of both...

  19. Alternate 'Battle of Midway': RN instead of USN, what's the result?

This kind of was the Brits, but if the USN can manage three carriers at Midway (nearly a fourth), then three or four for the RN is not beyond belief. What I'm really curious about is the damage potential from a single Brit torpedo? Have assumed a catastrophic kill will not occur from one...
