A Hippie in the House of Mouse (Jim Henson at Disney, 1980)

Billy and Mandy on the Disney Channel would be an interesting possibility down the line. Maybe with Tim Burton and Danny Elfman onboard (for art direction and music, respectively)?
  2. Garner Vs Wallace: The better president

Franklin Roosevelt along with having more time in office than any president, also had more vice presidents than any. John Nance Garner left and Wallace was narrowly prevented to be nominated and getting his spot in history. Garner himself almost became president thanks to the assassination...
  3. Dunkirk Disaster and colonies exchanged for withdrawal from France and Netherlands

The UK isn't giving up anything. Its France that's paying the price. Britain can reimpose the blockade of Germany just as easily as Germany can re-occupy France. Then both sides are back where they started. Britain would see peace as window of opportunity to rearm itself after Dunkirk. If the...

WI: Japan don't attack Philippines/Hawaii in 1941: how does US react

i kinda think the two ocean navy act is seriously gearing up for war.
  5. AH Cultural Descriptions

An 1855 semi-biographical novel by Anne Bronte about Mary Anning, the Dorset fossil collector who provided much of the early information about the Jurassic period. The novel, although possibly not vital in ensuring her importance to early paleontology, was nevertheless important in keeping her...
  6. Alternate 'Battle of Midway': RN instead of USN, what's the result?

Magnetic detonators were the bane of the German and U.S. submarine fleet in the early years of the war. Both countries had, independently, and in great secrecy, developed what was seen as a major advance. They were right in that it was a major advance, but it was simply not ready for prime time...

    Map Thread XX

Very nice map. A few questions- What's up with the Polish and Lithuanian political situation? How is the Afghan state achieving such hegemony? (Unless I'm misunderstanding the color scheme) I'm assuming the Chinese-colored Central Asian tributary state is the Dzungars, nice to see they...
  8. The American Nobility

April 13, 2034 "On this day, 300 years ago, my ancestor Thomas Jefferson was born. A man who shaped this great nation into what it has become, his devotion to this country and its people was certain and true. I commend him for what he did to craft the United States, and I thank him for giving...
  9. A Hippie in the House of Mouse (Jim Henson at Disney, 1980)

Actually, you were thinking of Greg Eagles. Geoffrey Holder was the voice of Ray the Sun in Bear in the Big Blue House, as well as the narrator for the 2005 remake of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Der Kampf: The Rise and Fall of the Austrian Führer

Depending on how you go about with this it could be very good or very bad. Your writing skills are good enough you have to focus on the plot itself. good luck
  12. Best accidental president

So far we have had eight, or nine "accidental presidents"; vice presidents who became president because of an absence in said presidency. We've had some terrible ones like Andrew Johnson, and awesome ones like Theodore Roosevelt. So I'm wondering; of the vice presidents in history, who'd show...
  13. Dunkirk Disaster and colonies exchanged for withdrawal from France and Netherlands

The British KNOW they can survive a hostile Europe provided they have secure sea lanes. They've done it often enough in the past. There is no way they will agree to a treaty that gives Germany close to naval parity even without the Italian fleet allied to it.
  14. The History of the Restored Portugal, the Brigantine Dynasty.

I think that was all in terms of text, it's perfect now. I get your point regarding creating new people, it's very hard to keep track of those family trees but at some point, you will need to invent people not only because of the butterflies but also because if Portugal improves and becomes or...

    Flag Thread V

I really like the Luna logo. It's distinctive without being overly complicated. I especially like idea of a flag variant for the rimward. Not enough places has this sort of complexity of flag use. Also, "Selenite" is a great choice. reminds me of this movie from when I was a kid.

  18. Dunkirk Disaster and colonies exchanged for withdrawal from France and Netherlands

After the Slovakia seceded, they ‘agreed’ a Protectorate with the remainder of Czecho-Slovakia, minus the Hungarian and Polish seizures. The Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia was declared shortly after. According to wiki: The German government justified its intervention by claiming that...

    Vietnam, a unwinnable war?

You are right, honestly. I just didn't criticize the propaganda about western democracy as that'd run the risk of bringing current politics into the discussion (which is a bad and way too vague rule, not gonna lie). The very Vietnam War and the continuous political misrepresentation of it...
