    Vietnam, a unwinnable war?

true but again, this would require the US to want to expand the war into Laos and Cambodia, a broader Indochina war which would open up a whole new can of worms

    Vietnam, a unwinnable war?

tbf gauchobadger isn't wrong Garrisoning the entirety of the south's borders would be a very long-term task and would require the US to commit a lot of resources- and I'm not sure the US would be willing to commit that kind of monumental effort in the 60s and 70s...
  3. Vietnam, a unwinnable war?

No half way measures, do it right, and follow through with it. Laos & Cambodia had already been invaded, and it's territory was being used as enemy base areas. You can't be a little bit pregnant, they were parties to the war already.

Amphetamines are treated differently under Japanese law because so many became addicts during the war.

Mexican “volunteers” aim a French made Hotchkiss machine gun from an apartment window in Panama City, 1955. Panama had seized the long desired Panama Canal following the outbreak of the Second American Civil War in 1937, much to the alarm of the Canadian government, which had coveted the canal...
  8. Vietnam, a unwinnable war?

Again look at your map. The DMZ along the 17th Parallel, start there, and drive west into Laos, until you reach the Thai border. Form a line along defensible terrain, and that blocks the North Vietnamese from reaching the South, or Cambodia. Your right holding South Vietnam's 800 mile borders...

Have the Austin Metro be more successful

Have the Austin Metro be more successful, basically be a sales success in Europe against the Fiesta, Corsa, Polo, Uno, 205 etc Bonus points for making it a success in markets outside Europe . . . South America?, Asia? Much obliged!

Part of Kiki's antipathy towards motherhood (which by the way she will be terrific at) stems from her conflict with her mother Kira when at the last argument they had Kiki told Kira that she was nothing more than a "Brood Sow" and got a slap in return along with a trip to Japan thrown in. Dr...

There's a scene in The Cruel Sea where the main character is so obsessed with the idea that there's a uboat tailing the convoy that he refuses to stop searching for it. He goes to the sickbay and the MO tells him that he can give him a tablet that "will make him like a spring lamb" for 24 hours...
  12. Dunkirk Disaster and colonies exchanged for withdrawal from France and Netherlands

Literally the only thing that would happen here is that Hitler would resume the war and occupy France and the Netherlands the instant he had his new fleet, and nobody involved was stupid enough not to know that. By 1939, everybody in Europe except for the one person in it who was almost as...

The Undying Empire: A Trebizond Timeline

It's perfectly valid to take a break if you're feeling burned out writing the timeline. Considering you basically spent the past few months posting a high quality timeline at a breakneck pace, I think you deserve it.

    Your Personal TNO Headcanon?

Well, I imagine it would be something like how someone in Morocco and someone in Iraq would both identify as Arab but would also emphasize how they're Moroccan or Iraqi as well. Also, I imagine the idea that regional identities are more important than some sort of identity as Russian to be...
