    Vietnam, a unwinnable war?

Honestly doubting that this 'invade Laos and build a Maginot Line' idea would work, because it really ignores the fundamental problem (as it was from the US side) about Vietnam: the people in NV had a cause and believed in it - theirs was a war of national liberation, the communist government...

    Vietnam, a unwinnable war?

Except where were they born? The Southern Cadres were near eliminated by 1971, from both Tet and then Phoenix. Numbers then made up by Northerners.

Chapter Two Thousand Twelve 6th August 1970 Berlin-Brandenburg International Airport It was the end of an era for the 18th Fast Attack Wing. For years they had used various versions of the Arado Pfeil and as of today, that was officially over. All remaining Pfeil aircraft in the inventory...

What if Edward IV lived to the end of 1483?

Really? I know he lived in William Herbert’s household for a bit but I never heard of this one before! Eh, wouldn’t say she’s the closest he could get. Elizabeth, Cecily and Bridget of York were discussed, and Cecily’s prospective husband at this point (according to Wikipedia) is Alexander...

    Vietnam, a unwinnable war?

Extend the DMZ across Laos, than pretend that Laos had any control of their territory.
  7. What if Edward IV lived to the end of 1483?

He was engaged to Maud Herbert, the eldest daughter of his warden. She is already long married to Northumberland, but some of her younger sisters are still free Maybe because she is the better (and closest to the crown) match who Tudor can realistically get in a Yorkist England?

    Vietnam, a unwinnable war?

After the old leadership had retired. There would be little reform from the original gang being in charge, say had they taken all of Vietnam in 1954. There would have been country wide 'land reform' with all the ethnic cleansing and 're-education' for those that didn't flee the country.
  9. Prince Waldemar of Prussia made King of Nepal in 1845

I suppose that in the longer term, the family name would be Nepalised? This is overall a fascinating what if I have to say. It is one of those seemingly odd bits of history that one is surprised to learn nearly happened in real life.

What if Edward IV lived to the end of 1483?

Wait who?! If this is Henry Tudor you're referring to I don't recall him being betrothed prior to Elizabeth of York (unless she's the person you're referring to). I actually like this match for some reason and I honestly don't know why.
  11. Dual Kingdom of Scotland and Norway.

Very interesting. This is early enough I don't think you will have strong nationalist pressures to break up the union. Some interesting possibilities long term.

Very well indeed. Is an update on the GDR coming?
  13. What if Edward IV lived to the end of 1483?

If Edward IV lived until the end of the year is likely who three big game changer events had already happened: Elizabeth of York will have likely married Maximilian of Austria (the wedding made too much sense for both sides for NOT happening if Edward IV lived slightly longer) securing her...

  15. Why are the western allies bombing civilians?

I would say that he would object to killing industrial workers (even those who specialize in industries very critical to the military) as targeting civilians. The coal mine example too would be denounced since the primary intent is to kill the miners rather than damage the mine. The...
  16. What happens if Rock Island chooses the Christie Route to American armor for WWII?

Here's a good question what happens to interwar American military equipment development if the Army had a decent budget for R@D that was mandated by Congress

Prince Waldemar of Prussia made King of Nepal in 1845

Nepalese names for the kings of the new dynasties are going to sound so awkward with a nepali name as first name and von Hohenzollern as the last name. I am just imagining a Prithvi Bir von Hohenzollern and Surendra von Hohenzollern all of which sound atrocious to the nepalese ear.
