  1. What happens if Rock Island chooses the Christie Route to American armor for WWII?

If you are referring to the suspension used in the Renault AMC 35, this used rubber washers as the spring element, not volute springs. I've not been able to fully pinpoint why but this suspension was found to be very energy inefficient, resulting in very poor cross-country range and capability...

Alternate Wikipedia Infoboxes VI (Do Not Post Current Politics or Political Figures Here)

Me: (Looks at infobox) Oh crap your right! I wonder how that slipped through the cracks. Maybe the (age 70) thing was a separate piece of info that I didn't see or something. I mean, how can someone be 70 years old when they are born!? LOL Thanks for telling me about my mistake, @Mr...
  3. And All Nations Shall Gather To It - A Crusades TL

Excellent update as per usual, and for me, one that pokes a lot of areas in my brain that hadn't been poked in a while... has it really been almost a year since I went on my last Serbia tangent?? Jokes aside, the Hungarian developments (and the Serb developments I can infer) are really something...
  4. A Second Wife, A Second Husband: A Tudor Timeline

My order after Somerset is: Richmond (Henry’s own former title and the title of his father, who his mother kept for all her life since the wedding), Pembroke (the title of his beloved uncle Jasper, who was a father for him) and only after that the Bedford title who has no sentimental value at...

What if Edward IV lived to the end of 1483?

I wouldn't call it almost impossible, but I do agree it's not as likely. I could see Edward IV saying it's a Princess and then when Tudor arrives in England he's given a de la Pole. How did either of those men trust him then?
  6. 'The Changes'

I watched it twice, that is both times it was shown on BBC1. I don't remember the plot but I do remember this... At the time it was the most frightening thing that my eight-year-old self had ever seen and I'd seen most of the famous frightening children's TV series of the era by then. I...
  7. How might a surviving Palmyrene and/or Gallic Empire evolve?

Not to mention it is a strategic trading port and a practical gateway to Egypt. I can definitely see a surviving Palmyra make Alexandria into its capital, though I feel Palmyra will remain as a spiritual capital of the Empire, much like how Rome was after its final division into East and West...
  8. Alternate 'Battle of Midway': RN instead of USN, what's the result?

I've leaned towards averaging out the results here. 2-3 hits = one carrier out of action, 4 hits = two carriers, 6 hits = three carriers. One reason is at night or bad weather the Brit torpedo strikes were not done in formation, but a loose gaggle of planes coming in from differing...
  9. The Forge of Weyland

What is the lawful chain of command in Belgium at the time? I'm pretty sure that George VI could only do the same on advice from his ministers.

AHC: Germanic but not Englidh England

Yes but I was mainly indicating the Danish Norse rather than the Norwegian Norse. Yes. Though I tend to lump them under the Angles. Probably shouldn't though. I wouldn't be surprised if some Franks came along but most of the references where Franks are mentioned as settlers seem to be copies of...
  11. What happens if Rock Island chooses the Christie Route to American armor for WWII?

Of course I said a decent R@D budget not a decent procurement budget which as we all know are two entirely different things. Of course having a lot of good equipment designed ahead of time would help out a lot come WWII
  12. WI: Selena lives

Twenty-six years ago today, Selena Quintanilla-Pérez, known mononymously as Selena, was shot by Yolanda Saldívar, the former president of her fan club. The outpouring of grief was comparable to the response to the murder of John Lennon fifteen years prior, and the murders of Tupac Shakur and the...
  13. What if Edward IV lived to the end of 1483?

Trust me. Tudor marrying a legitimate princess without the OTL usurpation of Richard III is almost impossible. Edward’s daughters can all made better matches than one of their father’s subjects Cecily‘s betrothal was switched between the future James IV and the already married Albany depending...

A Second Wife, A Second Husband: A Tudor Timeline

True, but I just chose Richmond because 1. Prince Philip Tudor, Duke of Richmond has a ring to it IMO and 2. The Tudor's never had an established Dukedom for a son past the Duchy of Somerset. It's also a nice tribute to Edmund too! Duke of Pembroke has a ring to it too! Might save that for later!
  16. The Forge of Weyland

I think that they will not be forgiving to one Belgian who happened to be the king during the time of the surrender. Considering what had happened to Belgium twice in the last thirty years (being in the path of the German army's advance because the terrain happens to be flat there) I can imagine...
