  1. The Diamond Map Thread

Diamond: This world probably (?) stems from France doing MUCH better in the mid to late 1700s. I don't have a whole lot worked out for a timeline, since this was done mainly for fun, but some things on the map include Spain not having any colonies anymore (lost 'em all to Britain in a war)...
  2. Can the US keep the Lexington-class battlecruisers?

Not without Britain getting its G3's in response. Tiger's prewar and obsolescent, R & R are early war emergency builds and know to be too lightly armoured, only Hood is a mostly modern design and even she's basically pre Jutland. Britain isn't letting anyone build new Battlecruisers (and...
  3. The Diamond Map Thread

(Apparently there's another map I missed) Diamond: This is the world about 60 years after the discovery of the New World; Cordoba, like Spain of OTL, got to the Caribbean first, but the Angevin Empire is intent on seizing the potential riches of Mexico. Just last year, they took Cuba from...
  4. Can the US keep the Lexington-class battlecruisers?

Speaking of the Lexingtons as BCs assuming you drop the speed to 32ish knots and use the best engine and boiler technology available at the time can you give them reasonable amounts of armor and TDS
  5. Nations that could have join the Axis powers during WW2?

China, I know the German military helped train the KMT before ditching them for Japan.
  6. The Diamond Map Thread

A nice Draka This one had a timeline: https://www.alternatehistory.com/forum/threads/a-true-history-of-the-draka.9580/
  7. The Diamond Map Thread

Just a place for old Diamond maps. To start with: Diamond: POD/events include Tartessos being able to hold off Carthage; a surviving Alexandrine Empire (which is now limited to the Balkans & Anatolia, but is still the 'cultural grandfather' of Europe); the Celts banding together and smashing...
  8. WIP Map Thread

I admit I haven't been as active on the site as of late, so I haven't been keeping up with that. I'll try to get that list back up to date.
  9. As Dreamers Do: American Magic Redux

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_Crossing Here's the company I mentioned earlier. It turns out it was basically a scam.

WI: Heydrich Succeeds Hitler in a Nazi Victory Scenario?

Sounds like Beria, in a way.
  11. WIP Map Thread

I have a fair number of them saved. I'll make a thread for them.
  12. WIP Map Thread

Rome falls in the east but survives in North Africa, leading to a "Carthaginian" Roman empire. Later Egypt breaks off.
  13. In a scenario where the byzantines are able to hold Syria and Egypt and repeal the arabs, can they hold the Exarchate of Africa?

Ok let's see Khalid dies on his march to the Syrian desert this via the march of mutiny or something as simple as a sand strorm not emerging on suwa, and not lining up with one southern arab army leading to the Roman cities been more secure do to no reinforcement forcing a retreat by and...

Can the US keep the Lexington-class battlecruisers?

On second thought, if the Lexingtons can be laid down even a year earlier (1919), some of them may be far enough along for them to be kept as BCs. Two could still be converted to aircraft carriers, leaving a pair of BCs each for the Atlantic and Pacific.
  15. WI: Selena lives

Considering her status as a Jehovah’s Witness, I would wonder how that would influence how wider American pop culture would see her if she got more famous.
  16. As Dreamers Do: American Magic Redux

If a licensee has to be made for either company, I'd want Grand Diamond as Disney's partner, while Universal can make deals with The Jim Henson Company and Warner Bros. Speaking of theme parks, can we have Bally NOT own every chain in sight?
  17. Anahuac Triufante: A more united and successful Mexico from Colony to Enduring Republic TL

Always disappointing to see an interesting timeline reaching its end but I respect the intellectual integrity of the decision That will be nice.

Moonlight in a Jar: An Al-Andalus Timeline

There was some, but I don't know if one can truly put a threshold on "enough" so much as measure it on a scale of "how much." There has certainly been some knowledge captured and translated, just not as much. One of the vectors in this case will be a bit different: Northern Iberian exiles are...
  19. Best President USA never had (19th century edition)

I picked Clay because I think he's one of the few who understood the slavery question and could navigate it without falling into civil war. Granted, how this affects the long run may be worse than OTL. Breckenridge may be able to avoid the war too, but I think if he wins in '60 the south...
