  4. AHQ: was Greece destined to be the cradle of European civilization?

But how do you explain the Romans caring about Greek culture this much?
  5. AHC: A feasible anarcho-monarchy

Is that not how cheiftans were started up in tribes, turning into dynasties? So, would anarcho-primitivism and a lack of tech work?
  6. DBWI: A totally non-successful Beer Hall Putsch

True, which means Bavaria might not have wound up being the poorest area in Germany for a long while.
  7. AHC: Embarrass the Nazis and destroy their legacy

I had one rule at the bottom of my post.
  8. What were the biggest tech and weapon mistakes and missed opportunities of Germany in ww2

well ... relatively speaking they would (quickly) have zero oil without their synthetic programs, also my point (maybe unclear) was that a more rational scaled down program, completed earlier, could have yielded more oil than a larger program completed at the height of Allied bombing campaign.
  9. A Hippie in the House of Mouse (Jim Henson at Disney, 1980)

That would raise a few questions... 1: If the Beast were to change back, would Belle become the Enchantress again? 2: If she does become the Enchantress once more, would the Prince formerly known as the Beast love her the same? 3: How would Lumiere, Cogsworth, Mrs. Potts, and the rest react to...

    AHC: A feasible anarcho-monarchy

IIRC there is a Tolkien quote in which he said that some days he felt like an anarchist, and other days he felt like a monarchist. So Tolkien goes into politics and starts a minor anarchy-monarchist movement? EDIT - I found the quote: “My political opinions lean more and more to Anarchy...

    WI: GM buys out Hyundai

Considering Daewoo designs were 'badge engineered' by Chevy, why not have Pontiac badge engineer the Hyundai designs.
  12. AHC: Embarrass the Nazis and destroy their legacy

For a very easy answer, Hitler dies during the Beer Hall Putsch and the party disintegrates as they fail to find a leader as unifying as Hitler. Preventing the rise of Nazisim and someone else rises in Germany. Edit: Basically they collapse due to infighting after Hitler's death.

  14. What were the biggest tech and weapon mistakes and missed opportunities of Germany in ww2

    1) Agreed, the V2 was less than useless 2) I guess they could have used them against the USSR as GB wasn't that far away but it took quite a while for the USAAF to figure out how to use them correctly, due to Bomber Harris I don't think the British really figured it out, or at least the ones who...
  15. AHC: Embarrass the Nazis and destroy their legacy

So grandpa, just how much did you suck if you lost France to the loser Nazis in 1940?
  16. AHC: Embarrass the Nazis and destroy their legacy

Not really the point though. The crux of this thread is that the Nazis should never be remembered as success stories and many of their "successes" shouldn't even happen.
  17. AHC: A feasible anarcho-monarchy

Maybe I'm a bit late to the party of April Fools, but I think this would be an interesting challenge. A "wacky ideology", anarcho-monarchism is the belief that the government should fundamentally be the responsibility of as few people as possible as such making an anarchy the ideal form of...

What were the biggest tech and weapon mistakes and missed opportunities of Germany in ww2

Considering the German's were short of tanks, build . . . build and build again these babies! The Panzer IV! For every Tiger, you could build 1.5 Panthers, for every Panther you could build four IV's! As a German General said . . . . "We need Sherman's, not Tigers!"
