  1. Is the German Empire able to take Moscow and Petrograd in WWI?

So if the war in the west ends quickly, will Germany still try to gain the Ukraine, etc. from Russia? That would make this necessary.
  2. Count of Crisco

A History of Alyska to the year 1800.

I now realize agriculture in general needs an article devoted to it. I am adding to the list.
  3. No Pakistan: what happens to Balochistan and the NWFP?

Pashtuns feared, as I mentioned before, Punjabi domination of the country, which is why they joined Hands with United Indian vision, as they knew that a united India would be much more diverse so that a single group cannoy dominate India would leave nwfp province alone and guve them the same...

Moonlight in a Jar: An Al-Andalus Timeline

Andalusi Romance still exists, particularly among Christian communities in the Iberian south. It's precipitously declined among Muslims, though. It's most often spoken in rural areas, but in cities most people learn the Andalusi variety of Arabic. Its destiny is probably to become a regional...
  5. The Forge of Weyland

And one that was built specifically to lob shells at Germans in Belgium.

Could the USSR work well enought on its orthodox form to be a pleasant place in modern day?

Someone who liked it was Khruschev. Maybe we keep him until he retired and get the krhuschevites to remain in power up to modern day.

    The Forge of Weyland

    Now there's a "pocket" battleship.
  8. What are some cliches in a Central Powers victory TL?

The ones that come to mind: 1. The tendency to assume that every German postwar proposal/desire would have actually come to fruition, no matter how difficult it would have been to impose peace terms or hold on to conquered lands. We know the Allies couldn't get their most extreme demands (the...

The Concert of Earth: A Multi-Polar 20th Century
Threadmarks: Chapter XV: A non-episodic period of history

The sinking of the Titanic was one of those disasters that captured the public’s imagination. It also sort of sets the tone for the year 1912. For Italy, 1912 was a triumphant year. For everyone else, it was a pretty rough year. A new war started, the US election was a mess, and Japanese Emperor...
  10. How devastating would a Japanese invasion of Korea be in the 1870s

Would it be possible for Japan to ethnically cleanse a significant amount of Koreans into Manchuria ?
  11. What were the biggest tech and weapon mistakes and missed opportunities of Germany in ww2

Actually, considering they built a huge (by the standards of the day) synthetic fuel industry, wich was between 3 to 5 times as expensive as natural fuel, they did have the money to stockpile huge quantities of crude oil. IG Farben leadership even suggested to stop because it just wasn't worth...
  12. The Rainbow. A World War One on Canada's West Coast Timeline

For reference Whytecliff Park area just north west of West Vancouver goes from a nice gentle 40’/13m deep bay to sheer open wall that Is 250m deep. Great scuba diving but definitely need to watch depths and close enough to scare the daylights out of Vancouver again.
  13. A History of Alyska to the year 1800.

Well you mentioned barely the introduction of buckwheat and rye during the japanese period - grains with lower requirements than others, specially rye with its antifreeze capabilities. The thing is, the limited land and time to cultivate and all the contenders for land, outside and inside...

A Time For Greatness: The Alternate Presidency of John F. Kennedy and beyond

Well I hope they throw the whole legal library at the solider responsible for Salamina - that was one thing JFK did not need. Why do I get the feeling the Black Veterans of Cuba is going to make a key difference in the civil right movement? The Moonshot announcement might see an up swing in...
  16. What are some cliches in a Central Powers victory TL?

For Britain to keep German colonies they would have to keep fighting on after France had fallen, the BEF routed, captured or evacuated, the uboats operating from Western France, Dover being bombarded by long range artillery, the channel being closed to shipping and air battles being fought over...
  17. Could the USSR work well enought on its orthodox form to be a pleasant place in modern day?

If nothing else, they started off poorer than the United States, and have a ways to catch up. There were substantial inefficiencies inherent to their economic system (although the same is true for free markets). Unless you have a very far back POD, probably before WWII at the latest, I highly...
  18. Is civilizational centrism inevitable?

This is perhaps a new term, but what I mean is the whole 'Eurocentrism' shtick, the White Man's Burden, or how non-European cultures are regarded as uncivilised or uncultured or both, the whole idea of Orientalism... You get the point. Are similiar ideas inevitable or necessary when a...

No Pakistan: what happens to Balochistan and the NWFP?

I did kind of know about the Pashtun chieftains' sympathies for the INC, but to what extent weren't these sympathies a balancing act in response to the growth of Jinnah and the Pakistan movement? The NWFP might still end up with a separatist crisis if mega-India mismanages local affairs.
