  1. Plausibility checks: Habsburg exchanges during the Napoleonic period

First of all, thank you for replying to my post! What I meant is that following the loss of the mediatised estates in the Reich after 1803-1806, Hungary became more important as a source of military potential and also remained a key source of revenue at a time when Austria's finance ministers...

    List of monarchs III

Ooh, a Bonaparte List. Very interesting. Love how it mirrors OTL in that the Bonaparte can't even agree on who should be Head of the Dynasty.
  3. Automotive WI: Hyundai Motor Group acquires MG Rover, Saab, De Tomaso, Hispano-Suiza, Bentley, Jaguar-Land Rover, Lotus, Mini, and Rolls-Royce

That would make the queen of england (or perhaps king if you wanna create some creativity 😉) riding in a korean car? This would be interesting On other note what happened to the american automotive jndustry ittl? Does it still stay the same or?

  6. Treaty Ports (Ireland) in WW2

Pre 1914 when you had a fully supported rail infrastructure and such it was fine for basing destroyers out of to guard the approaches, but as I said the area is not the best by 1939. Just as the post WW1 plan for a full airbase in Killeagh fed off the Cobh railway line wouldnt be useable by 1939...

  8. No Pakistan: what happens to Balochistan and the NWFP?

It's certainly possible, but it's far from certain. Remember that a United India will be a third Muslim, Indo-Islamic culture and Iranian/Turkic cultural influences will be a lot more identified with "Indian" identity. Pashtuns are unlikely to be any more alienated from Delhi than Muslims as a...
  9. What were the biggest tech and weapon mistakes and missed opportunities of Germany in ww2

Presumably locomotives had access to a certain amount of infrastructure vs a military wheeled vehicle in wartime that might need to be parked in an ad hoc location at times. (I realize steam trucks might not be considered to be tactical vehicles but having to deal with draining boiler water...
  10. WI: Hansl im Keller, or a Son for Karl VI?

Came across this "interesting" plan during by Stanhope and co. during the 1720s: @isabella @Archduke @VVD0D95 @Nmale @Vladivostock @curlyhairedhippie @Emperor Constantine
  11. For All Mankind (AH Tv series at Apple TV)

Uh wow, The Ringer published an article on deepfakes with what looks like a huge spoiler for the show. Don’t even want to link it just in case, but if you’re curious just google “for all mankind the ringer” and it should come up.
  12. Automotive AHC - Improve Studebaker's (and Packard's) prospects

:eek: And I didn't even notice.:oops::oops::oops::oops::oops: My previous still stands, unfortunately. The front end of the Avanti is still peculiar in the extreme, IMO, & the C-pillar produces an odd effect. It's easy enough to fix: move the headlights out, & "scoop" the fenders...

  14. What were the biggest tech and weapon mistakes and missed opportunities of Germany in ww2

Regarding Tank production, once we look at what was built when, the Panther was a PzIII replacement, being built in factories that had been building PZ III, MAN, DB, MNH, while Krupp and Nibelungenwerke kept up (and actually ramped up) Pz IV production. (StuG III were always built by Alkett, The...

  17. The Forge of Weyland

Now 20 days into the war and the Germans will have totally shot their bolt. They have several fundamental issues coming home. The LW will be at or below 50% operational strength with significant aircrew losses and a high tempo of operations falling off dramatically, Physically they are just...

Automotive WI: Hyundai Motor Group acquires MG Rover, Saab, De Tomaso, Hispano-Suiza, Bentley, Jaguar-Land Rover, Lotus, Mini, and Rolls-Royce

For sure, Hyundai would have benefited from the [Rolls-Royce] Ghost's underpinnings, but at first, HMG ditched the BMW-influenced engines in favour of the former's technologies - in particular many of the engines used in both Hyundai and Kia cars were genetically derived from Mitsubishi Motors...
