What if NAZI Germany didn’t build battleships?

If Nazi Germany doesn't build battleships that is a major prestige blow to them. It implies the Nazis are not serious in bringing Germany back as a major power. Germany can build up submarines regardless, it's not an either-or question.
  2. The Quarter-BAM project

Part of my rationale was that it will keep the maps separated alphabetically from the AD maps.
  3. A Thorn In The Rose: A War Of The Roses TL

Yeah nah, Richard would have no pretext for usurping with Edmund around, he’s not a complete moron
  4. What were the biggest tech and weapon mistakes and missed opportunities of Germany in ww2

Factor in air superiority and the overall tactical situation and it's amazing they managed to kill any Shermans at all. The Panther was designed for the Eastern Front. Like I said a while back, nobody designs tanks for Normandy. Nobody had a perfect tank in 1943. In 1945 the centurion came...
  5. Treaty Ports (Ireland) in WW2

I think that was definitely part of it and a common story - my mother's dad left Fermanagh for Dublin. Also I think somewhere that Belfast was hit hard by the Great Depression and the WW2 was almost a lucky break economically speaking. Dublin conversely was if not doing well in the 1920s and...
  6. What if NAZI Germany didn’t build battleships?

The German BB - S&G and B&T - were probably good investments for the Axis as a whole, as they tied down completely disproportionate RN forces that could have been much better utilized crushing the Italians in the Med, then being available in the Far East.

    The Quarter-BAM project

Hmm... maybe. This does sort it, which is good. The only problem I see is that the BC dates come afterward, but thinking more that might actually be a solution. BC is probably used a lot less, so having them comes last makes some sense.
  8. Saddam is killed in the attempted assassination of Qasim

Syrian Iraqi alliance possible without saddam ?
  9. What if NAZI Germany didn’t build battleships?

Also don’t forget there are a lot of surplus trawlers , sloops , and escort destroyers in British empire that can be used as stop gap ASW craft , not to mention RAF coastal command Afterall KM U boats are not nuclear subs , essentially submersible torpedo boats
  10. Treaty Ports (Ireland) in WW2

The question of northern ireland still remain tho
  11. "What Madness Is This?" Volume II: Prophecies in the Dark

Ah, so the plot is thickening. New connections in the web appear. Interesting. Let's see: George Patton being a worm cultist was a rather logical path. He already showed interest in the misteries of the Worm and was kind of a Heinrich Himmler figure with his searches for legendary places and...
  12. AH Cultural Descriptions

An elementary school in Elkhorn Nebraska named after its most famous son, comic book author Mydear Watson. Watson was the pen name of former student Rudy “Watson” Wacharsky who went on to write comic books like “Slimeball”, “Ned Rourke, Private Eye” and most famously “Rubberman.” The school was...

It's halfway done. Should be finished this month.
  15. If Rome got rid of slavery would it have advanced more?

The difference between those two wasn't that big really. And it's also important to note that in their culture, having slaves was a fact of life and society, so no class would ever have abolished it. Especially because having slaves also made life a lot easier and gave security in a way a paid...
  16. Ottoman Empire embraces "Dualism"?

I think the closest you probably got to anything like this being feasible was in the mid 18th century, when the Romanian principalities of Wallachia and Moldavia had their own independent constitutions but were essentially just informal extensions of the Ottoman state. If the Ottoman Empire...
  17. The New Order: Last Days of Europe - An Axis Victory Cold War Mod for HoIIV

Personally I’d switch out Tucachevsky for Vlasov (dodges thrown fruit), now hear me out I’m not doing the CBTS Glorification, I’m more thinking along the lines of making a true equivalent for Tuk and has murderous pro communism with Vlasov being murderously anti communist and determined to purge...
  18. What were the biggest tech and weapon mistakes and missed opportunities of Germany in ww2

Ahh I see the thread has reached the 'Steamed powered' phase ;) Another thing that is often thrown about is the lack of winter clothing for the Heer and how short sighted they were Winter clothing, decent winter clothing involves the use of Wool It takes the yearly product of 3 sheep to...

What happens if Rock Island chooses the Christie Route to American armor for WWII?
    Threadmarks: Working on a Sherman.

That tank is making a lot of noises, one does not want to hear; especially if one is inside it. It took five to kill one Tiger, BULL. The Sherman platoon (by doctrine) would fix the Tiger with a decoy, and then a buddy would give the Cat a shot in the flank and then the Sherman platoon waited...
  20. WI: Petain Joined The Resistance With De Gaulle?

The other thing is, since Petain is the head of the government, where he goes, other ministers will too. Therein, there won't be a 'Free France', it'll simply be a government in exile, which rather changes the calculus.
