    Is civilizational centrism inevitable?

Odd... I had sort of skimmed this thread over, looked innocuous and "philosophic" enough, figured I'd come back to it later.... Little did I know......
  3. The Forge of Weyland

But there will be no Victory through Air Power to attract the best and the brightest.

Who could have been the most chaotic, insane and "lost" American president ever if elected?

I think that a Fremont administration , would be a lot like the Grant administration , just happening before the Civil War. We see a lot of corruption and Fremont more or less ignorant of it.
  6. The Forge of Weyland

While they're at it they should remove those absurd 8" gun turrets. They might fit twin 5" DP, the way it was done in OTL. The four turrets could be put at Wake or Guam or Midway or someplace where they might be useful.

  8. The Visigoths win at Vouillé?

We are as different as possible. I would far prefer a Merovingian Frankish Europe than a Gothic Europe.
  9. What are some cliches in a Central Powers victory TL?

I wonder what they think of the US during the war itself? As what the government in general and the executive branch in paric was doing was anything BUT democratic. It is actually scary to see what was being done back then in the name of the war effort ,

Who could have been the most chaotic, insane and "lost" American president ever if elected?

When I move to Alabama in 76, the locals seem to feel that Wallace , knew where the bodies were buried (He buried a few) and could get things done, Not sure how well he do in Federal Politics but he would not be completely lost, he was the text book definition of a southern politicians .

  15. What were the biggest tech and weapon mistakes and missed opportunities of Germany in ww2

Bonus of invading New Zealand: the amphibious experience will be helpful for Sea Lion and the cross-Atlantic invasion of the United States.
  16. The New Order: Last Days of Europe - An Axis Victory Cold War Mod for HoIIV

That sounds like it could be reasonably fun, yeah.

Murat joins the 6th coalition in 1813

Good question. You'd think, in the European geopolitics-of-the-day, that it would be, control of the Baltic and all... but that really mattered most to Alexander, who got on fairly well with Bernadotte, and with the UK.... Naples was another matter, right in the heart of everything... and...
  19. What if NAZI Germany didn’t build battleships?

Before 1939 the German Army was relatively small (38 Infantry Divisions by 1938) and was massively outnumbered by its neighbours If Britain had the ability to deploy a BEF of 32 Divisions in 1938 (6 Regular and 26 TA Divisions) by the introduction of conscription a couple of years earlier when...
