Kentucky Fried Politics: A Colonel Sanders Timeline

Great April Fools update. Very funny :)
  2. at U.S. Constitutional Convention in 1787, northern states engage in brinksmanship and get deal on phase out of slavery by southern states

Most of them. Chattel slavery was a rare thing. Of course, more civilized countries didn't have slaves at this point.
  3. Best accidental president

OTOH, the Fed's policy was very expansionary during 1920-21. In addition, that one was caused by a big demand-supply mismatch caused by the end of the war - which also happened in Britain and others as well, plus Fed's previous attempts to combat wartime inflation via raising rates. Meanwhile...

    AHC: Save a notorious flop

The worst part about it all is it's not irredeemably bad. Popeye is filled with a lot good moments. But they don't link up very well, making it a chaotic mess, even by Altman standards. I will say Duvall is excellent as Olive Oyl, so not every call Altman made was stupid.
  5. AHC: Colonize Japan

Britain keeps Manila at the end of the Seven Years War. It becomes a cosmopolitan trading hub of East Asia over the next thirty years. When the Macartney Mission of 1793 comes around, they manage to find a Japanese-English translator from Manila and continue their plans to visit Kyoto after...
  6. Galloway and the Plan of Union: A Saga of a British America

Hi everyone. I just want to say I appreciate you guys supporting this TL as well as the feedback provided by the most recent poll I displayed. However, I just do not know what I should work on next for this TL. I am not giving up on this at all. There are just so many directions this could go...
  7. WI: Willhelm II dies in 1913

Did Wilhelm's sons enjoy the same warm relationship with Franz Ferdinand that their father did?
  8. AHC: Jewish "Carthage"

That would be an interesting timeline. You would eventually need, one way or another, to bring the Yahwehists back to the Levant, due to the covenant with the patriarchs. Jerusalem can't be just another stop.
  9. What if the US found actually found Nuke’s in Iraq?

If the Bush administration was found to be correct about Iraqi WMD, the political consequences in the United States could be massive.
  10. Greek Style colonization by the Maya

A great big barrier reef is in the way of a lot of the seafaring tradition, only place to go through for hundreds of kilometers was Tulum, which is one of the reasons why that city was there. Make more opening, eliminate it entirely or have them make barrier island villages, somehow, may lead to...

    Medieval America Mark III

Here There Be Monsters: Giant Pacific Octopus Long have sailors feared the abominations of the deep - Leviathans, Sea Serpents, Krakens, whatever they called it they knew something slimy was out there and they didn't like it. In the post-modern world of Medieval America, sailors have new...
  12. WI: Willhelm II dies in 1913

Churchill's naval holiday proposal was in 1913 correct?, would the new Kaiser support such a proposal??? Would he be close to Tirpitz???

at U.S. Constitutional Convention in 1787, northern states engage in brinksmanship and get deal on phase out of slavery by southern states

To be frank what happens is the southern states walk out, the convention fails, and everyone’s back to square one, and significantly more pissed at each other.

I was referencing to the status of Supergirl storytelling before Crisis on Infinite Earth. The time period before the 85 movie This is not a bad idea.
  15. As Dreamers Do: American Magic Redux

@Goldwind2 It's more likely New Line gets to do Akira.
  16. What if NAZI Germany didn’t build battleships?

Building more Type IX U-Boats won't really help in the tonnage war, it would just enable them to operate further away from base. The down side is longer turnaround times, per sortie. The Type IX has 2 aft tubes, and I think a load of 19, vs 14 torpedoes for the Type VIIC, but it was slower...
  17. What if NAZI Germany didn’t build battleships?

    1) UK is going to be highly annoyed at an overt U Boat raider strategy. How do any of the various pre-war diplomatic crisis play out? The AGNA was a victory for Germany and opened the door to what else followed. 2) Do the Germans invade Norway without G&S? 3) I expect the British as others...
  18. There and Back Again: The English Journeys of Catherine of Aragon.

Thank you, we shall see how it all turns out, but in the end the succession for Henry VIII will be more secure.
