    Threadmarks: Final 2019-20

Belgium and Brazil met again, this time in the finals of the Nations League. For Brazil, it was their opportunity to take their 10th title, and their first since 1994. For Belgium, this was finally the opportunity to win an international title. The Red Devils weren't in control during the early...
  2. Who could have been the most chaotic, insane and "lost" American president ever if elected?

With Fremont would probably have been earlier with more states seceding.Consequently longer and bloodier war.
  3. A Thorn In The Rose: A War Of The Roses TL

Oh, well if Henry forced his wife to stop to make the war to York, they would be reconcile, but NOT without a strong intervention of his own.
  4. WI: Richard II had a breakdown in 1392 instead of Charles VI?

Henry II’s daughters also were deprived of their inheritance, mostly because they were born and raised far away from Champagne.

    Hearts of Iron IV "Fictionalization."

I'm okay with this. Speaking of this, the actor who played James T. Cassidy in The Greek Tycoon ironically also played the actual JFK in.. a biographical movie about Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Franciscus

Man-Made Hell: The History of the Great War and Beyond

Trends I see in the future: 1. Soviets/Syndies work on improving logistics and expanding industries. They may move critical industries away from areas in bomber or naval gunfire range to more defensible or remote areas. 2. Entente/Central Powers will work on reconstruction and improving naval...
  7. WI: Richard II had a breakdown in 1392 instead of Charles VI?

Well, with Navarre I agree, but I came across some text by Polish author who is dedicated to Champagne history that Champagne had something like semi-Salic law in place, supported by the fact that Theobald III was heir of Henry II ahead of Henry II's daughters.

AHC: State-owned enterprises more widely accepted in USA

US Post Office used to operate as a National Bank of a sort, the Postal Savings System from just before WWI, that started to be wound down in 1967
  10. What are some cliches in a Central Powers victory TL?

I think it is clear that this criteria is dubious. USA is 10/10 with a presidential voting system that allows one vote in Wisconsin to be worth the same a massively more in New York State. Likewise with Senate
  11. WI: Willhelm II dies in 1913

Germanys plan to beat France before Russia could mobilize, was a crap plan, because once Russia mobilized for any reason, even diplomatic sabre rattling, Germany has to attack. No off ramps possible as you say.

A Thorn In The Rose: A War Of The Roses TL

I don’t think Henry’s problem was his education, it was his personality. He was too vulnerable to people like Somerset and Suffolk, and when he needed to step up and be a strong leader he either shut down or naively believed that people like York and the queen could be reconciled.

  14. WI: Richard II had a breakdown in 1392 instead of Charles VI?

Jeanne was without doubt heiress at least of Navarre and Champagne. Jeanne had ZERO reasons for searching revenge for her mother’s death (something who also her maternal uncle and grandmother had NOT done). Her mother had been guilty and her father was the one to order her death as he had no...

Henry VI education ended when he was 14 it was the only real decision he ever made it was uncle John Duke of Bedford who kept Plantagenet Holdings in Northern France together. The English lost because they did not have the money or resources to win and it didn't help that Henry V died of...

The NATO question was relatively alive around this period as there was some resistance from the other members of the EEC about allowing a none NATO neutral nation to join, it might depend on how the U.K. deals with the UDI?
  20. AHC: East Asian Social Democracy

East Asian tiger capitalism manages to get GINI coefficient outcomes that aren't too far off from Scandinavia and Canada, or that are closer to them in equality than the US is.
