  1. AHC: East Asian Social Democracy

Perhaps, but it seems to me that you're putting the cart before the horse. We're not social democratic because we're hyper-individualistic, we're hyper-individualistic because we have been social democratic for decades/generations and because the theory/ideology of statist individualism was...

  4. Have Space 1999 be more successful

I was going to say that might work, but then I remembered that Thunderbirds Are Go!, Thunderbird Six and Doppleganger/Journey to the Far Side of the Sun were flops which doesn't auger well for Space: 1999 TMP. OTOH it would be hard to make it a commercial failure on the scale of Raise the...
  5. Why was Hitler so charismatic?

Because Hitler was pissed off and he was a great orator and could express how pissed off he was the German people saw a kindred spirit in him

A Shift in Priorities - Sequel

Little Switzerland, ever alone in the heart of Europe. What do they think of the current world order and the events that formed it?
  7. What would happen to France if the reform concept proposed by Napoleon III in 1870 succeeded?

Yes, but that was in the period of 1815-1848 with the Bourbons and Orleans. Napoleon 3rd was of course, a bonaparte. Although I'm not sure if there would much of a difference by this point. Unlikely, even with the reforms, it would be too late to prevent a superior Prussian army with the...
  8. WI: Cromwell pulls a Washington

If Charles II is King, is there any chance that Charles I could reconcile himself to the situation? Sure he wasn't the sort of man to budge when it came to his prerogatives as King, but he was also (as far as I can tell) a loving father and husband, and I can't imagine him being happy with the...

AHC: Make Charles VII Rescue Joan of Arc, Instead Of Letting Her Be Burned By The English.

Was there not an army on their way to rescue Joan? Either way she could escape herself if given the opportunity.
  13. Ming invasion of Taiwan in 1633

Taiwan would be Chinese, but 30 years earlier and would be under the direct control of the ming. As for isolationism, some may argue that the battle would prove to the Chinese that Europe was a growing threat, but with a victory Liaoluo Bay, it could result in the opposite effect with China...

    AHTL: British Carrier Strike

Hitting the array of DDs and SSs on the piers with bombs (as tried in OTL) might make some sense but attacking fixed infrastructure needs more and bigger bombs than Swordfish can carry That's really a job for the RAF ... and on a different night. Mining the approaches is better on Judgement Day...
  15. Sir John Valentine Carden survives.

Someone said rommel used like 1k panzers in total thanks to replacements and shipping losses in otl i think wich could help keep panzers strong for maybe another year on the eastern front and maybe not make kursk as crippling as it was otl for example altough it would still be a disaster. And...
  16. What if NAZI Germany didn’t build battleships?

No because of this... The AGNA gave Germany enough tonnage to build three 35,000 ton capital ships and with hindsight using it to build a third Bismarck would have been a better use of the resources put into Graff Zeppelin and Aircraft Carrier B. And has already been mentioned building more...
  17. How long could Nazi Germany delay its defeat?

They might not be able to survive long enough to get nuked in August of 45 The best chance for success would be to pull troops back right before they get annihilated or surrounded Pulling the troops out of Norway right before the allies except for on German soil would just provide more speed...
  18. AHTL: British Carrier Strike

Agreed. 54 torpedo bombers (I think all swordfish here are all carrying torpedoes) compared to 11 torpedo carrying swordfish doesn't mean this raid can do 5 times as much damage. I believe 11 torpedo planes got 5 hits historically. If 54 torpedo planes get 10-15 hits its still a massive success.
