  1. AHTL: British Carrier Strike

If I was in charge (and I am still bitter that they did not ask me at the time) I would dedicate a squadron each on the 2 Modern BBs - Littorio and Vittorio Veneto The lead strike Squadron from each carrier involved The attack on Richelieu at Dakar with 6 Torpedo planes on July 8th 1940 hit...
  2. Have Space 1999 be more successful

Does that mean that Quellar & Simmonds are regular or recurring characters? If it does.👍

'Short .30' cartridges became mainstream in 1930s?

Biggest thing was burned cooler, and had stabilizers added for long life. Earlier powder got unstable.

Let There be Peace in the Great European Plain: A Story of Teutons and Slavs in 19th Century.

Thought, that should be noted, that, IMO, in this scenario a Tsarist Russia backed by her German alliance and if the Austro-Hungarian empire is somewhat neutralized... Then seems probable that the Tsar, with the (OTL, ever present) menace/possibility of war with Germany turned null, would feel...
  5. WI: President, Vice President, Speaker of the House, President Pro Tempore of the Senate, & Secretary of State All Die In Office

The legality of succession by the deputy secretaries is dubious at best. When new departments have been created Congress has carefully amended teh 1947 succession law to include them. Still we know that nature arbores a vacuum so something would happen. I suspect there is some obscure...
  6. Look to the West Volume VIII: The Bear and the Basilisk

Well, I always root for Russia to get beaten up in this TL. For reasons that escape me, they're very much my least favorite 'character'. (Very much a love to hate thing going on) Regardless, an excellent installment as ever.
  7. Have Space 1999 be more successful

Yes and you can't watch too many Eagle crashes.

In 1886 OTL he gave the INC men a gerden tea party and in 1887 OTL he called them traitorous why is there a change of heart ITTL. Why are farm laws needed in the first place? The 1873-74 Bihar famine had negligible casualties due to the massive relief effort and people were healthy enough to go...
  9. Have Space 1999 be more successful

I like this idea. Bearing what I posted earlier in mind, I think perhaps they could settle in orbit around a single 'Meta Earth' per series rather than go down the planet of the week route. That would allow all sorts of explorations of the planet itself plus the personal and political...
  10. Proposals and War Aims That Didn't Happen Map Thread

The reasoning behind this is just *chef's kiss* top notch.
  11. Another Anjou as Queen of England

That has nothing to do with the topic of this thread, and PLEASE stay on topic.

These Fair Shores: The Commonwealth of New England

Vermont's government is exceptionally weak. It does very little during the few weeks it meets a year. Each town is essentially autonomous, and the legislature, and the Premier, really only exist for external affairs (such as managing relations with Adirondack or New Hampshire, for example) or...

Boldly Going: A History of an American Space Station

Awww, this TL is coming to an end. I have to say, you guys really did a great job! I also loved the renders
  14. Could The Romans Colonize America With Steamships?

Every time you see a Roman America scenario, people say it's impossible or unrealistic, but I've got an idea for a potential Roman discovery of America that might work. If the Romans had actually done something with the aeliopile, they would have industrialized heavily, and would have had a huge...
  15. The Tudor Rose over Brittania

What about the lesser nobility in Northern and Eastern Europe there's also the prince's of the Holy Roman Empire. As for France if Henry was to secure the region himself or his brother would have to stay there are for a decade. Charles VIII and Louis XII of France failed in Northern Italy due...
  16. Patton in Korea/MacArthur in the White House

I more or less agree with your analysis here especially on tariffs and Hoover's refusal to abandon the gold standard, but would like to point out that the contraction of the money supply and problem of underconsumption by the public could have been better alleviated by direct aid to individuals...
  17. List of monarchs III

Emperors of the French 1804-1812: Napoleon (House of Bonaparte) 1812- 1838: Charlemagne II (House of Tallyrand-Périgord) [1] 1838-1847: Achille (House of Murat-Napoli) [2] 1847-1881: Eugène (House of Pepoli) [3] 1881-1904: Maurice (House of Tallyrand-Bonaparte) [4] 1904-1907: Maurice II (House...
  18. Best accidental president

It did contribute directly to the Depression via depressing confidence, thus damaging investments and consumption, so the impacts were mostly psychological. The main causes were credit bubble bursting causing waves of bank collapses (which destroyed savings of the middle class), contractionary...
  19. WI Jesus was Executed by Sawing

Regarding the issue of existence though, there are items like coins still extant from the reign of Alexander the Great. There may not be primary written texts from that time but there is a wealth of archaeological evidence. I can't think of anything similar with regards to Jesus.
  20. AHTL: British Carrier Strike

yes just identify the correct tanks and hit them. Combo of HE and incendiary bombs work best on POL, HE is good but add the incendiary and you have an almost 100 percent chance of it burning.
