  1. AHC: Have China, not Russia, be the first country to go Communist

There was no Chinese Marxist movement to have leadership at the time of the Boxers. Even the CCP only traces it roots back to 1919 and the May 4th movement.
  2. WI: Ronald Reagan Puts Anthrax in US Illegal Drug Supply

(Note: I do not believe that he, or anyone, did this. I do not support anyone doing this!) What if, in May 1986, the CIA under Ronald Reagan's approval began intercepting as many shipments of illegal drugs as they could find- especially of cocaine, heroin, and marijuana- and 'cutting' them...

Until Every Drop of Blood Is Paid: A More Radical American Civil War

I once heard someone talking about an idea where the South is a bastion of Agrarian Socialist economics combined with very strong evangelical religious values (since, believe it or not, Christian Socialism is a thing). That's a very odd idea to think about, but it is out there.
  5. The Burning Cauldron: The Neo Assyrian Empire Defended

Any predictions for the near future?
  6. What if the Mark 71 8"/55 gun wasn't cancelled?

The biggest problem was that the ship's mission evaporated while the class was under development and then it didn't gain a new purpose until the last few years. Yes, the technical complexity and plethora of new systems was a significant factor, otherwise the US Navy might have just soldiered on...
  7. AHC: State-owned enterprises more widely accepted in USA

You might enjoy the theory of “system accident,” which addresses some of this.
  8. Alternate Wikipedia Infoboxes VI (Do Not Post Current Politics or Political Figures Here)

I personally think you should turn this into a full-blown thread when you have the chance, cuz this stuff is really fascinating

'Short .30' cartridges became mainstream in 1930s?

Not a round of the warehoused 30-06 was ever fired thru the M1 in combat, it was all new manufactured ammunition. Much of it was pawned off on the Navy, but there was enough after the War to feed surplus ammo sales thru the 1970s.
  10. AHC: State-owned enterprises more widely accepted in USA

How might the MIC be nationalized? What would be nationalized? How would the nationalized companies and industries function?
  11. 'Short .30' cartridges became mainstream in 1930s?

The U.S. Cavalry IIRC often found that their Sharp Rifles power was not enough of an advantage and that Winchester lever action rifles with what were more or less intermediate cartridges were a better weapon for the short, sharp actions of the later Indian Wars. The U.S. Could have found a...
  12. WI Operation Ten-Go Successful?

Let's be honest here, no one actually thought the ship was going to be operational long enough to beach herself, or for the sand clogging the intakes to actually matter if, by some miracle, she actually beached herself. It was one last foolish, overcomplicated plan by a navy that loved them too...
  13. Sir John Valentine Carden survives.

Singapore probably is doomed (it might last longer than OTL--which would throw off Japanese timetables a bit), but the Burmese front is the more interesting one--if Burma is not conquered as much as OTL, it'll affect the Bengal famine, which was caused by the Japanese occupying Burma...
  14. Explain the AH Quote

President John Adelaide of the North American Union, speaking in his home city of Vancouver, Columbia Province, on the formation of the so-called Indo-Australian union. The Indo-Australian Union consisted of remnants of the British Empire in the Empire of India and the Dominion of Australia...

An Age of Miracles Continues: The Empire of Rhomania
Threadmarks: East-1641 & 1642: The Realm of Mesopotamia

East-1641 & 1642: The Realm of Mesopotamia 1641 continued: There is a hiatus after the fall of Mosul. Despite the substantial stockpiling of supplies during the truce, the sheer amount of material needed to reduce the city had exceeded even the Romans’ most pessimistic projections. There is a...
  16. "If They Want It They Can Have It": Ulster's Tragedy.

I can't see Gibraltar being under threat, I'd bet if Spain even looked at it at this period, Washington would fall on them hard while dealing with the situation in Ulster.

    WI Operation Ten-Go Successful?

It can’t beach itself and continue to function. The boilers that generate the steam, that generates the electricity to make everything function need a heat sink. That heat sink is seawater flowing through the main condensers. If the seawater intakes are uncovered the ship can’t work. It could...
  18. Keeping the British Liberal Party flag flying high

I'm interested to see if Socialist Labour remains the main Opposition or if the Conservatives overtake them, you've nicely captured how election night broadcasts sound OTL, that drip drip of information. Keep going pip!
