  1. East first! Europe after a German / CP victory in 1916

I have the same thoughts about Austria-Hungary. Without German support, A-H would have been completely defeated in Galicia in 1914. And without Bulgaria's entry into the war, the conquest of Serbia was not possible (same as OTL). The German influence will therefore increase. I can therefore...
  2. Could Dunkirk have gotten "worse" for the Germans?

Precisely, it's a major gamble. Supplying the divisions holding the defensive perimeter will need the RAF and RN to commit itself in the Channel. This will lead to more losses than in OTL.
  3. AHC/WI: land focused Netherlands

I'm not sure that's really plausible, considering the excellent ports and maritime trade routes that existed there. I could, however, see the Dutch Republic being more focused on land armies (not totally though) if it rules all of the Netherlands' 17 provinces, rather than just the 7...
  4. Byzantines conquer most (or all) of Spain?

He might be more open to Imperial influence, but not to the same degree as the Patriarch of Constantinople -- he is, after all, hundreds of miles away from the capital, and so harder for the Emperor to keep a close eye on.
  5. A Hippie in the House of Mouse (Jim Henson at Disney, 1980)

As a sorta-fan of John Waters (I love and appreciate how unapologetically him he is) I'd love to just make that film work. Perhaps take a cue from the Ebert critique and replace Kathleen Turner (as much as I love her) with Francis McDormand and go Full Camp.
  6. Battle Royale: The Last Generation Of An SNES-CD Saga

Not sure. I've gone through both Player Two Start and Massively Multiplayer and saw no mention of her. Wondering what's the status of Banpresto ITTL. Btw, Nivek's back.
  7. AHC: Embarrass the Nazis and destroy their legacy

...has too much of an imbalance in the direction of casual anti-woman imagery. Now, if you’re creating your own self-contained mini-universe such as a equal opportunity offender movie, then knock yourself out. * the above is from the “Oh, Wicked Wanda!” cartoon which ran in Penthouse magazine
  8. Could Dunkirk have gotten "worse" for the Germans?

If the allies understand what is happening in time, a partial evacuation can be combined with leaving a strong force ( up to ten divisions) holding a defensible perimeter ( Zeebruge - Bruges - Ypres - St. omer - Montreil general line) that forces the Germans to fight a land battle to try and...
  9. The Reform Party: 20 Years of History

Ooh it's very interesting to see all the gains made by the reform party, and well as how well it's done in the Northern Mariana islands.

  11. AHC: An Irish Economic Miracle

Would having Fianna Fáil lose the 1951 election (thus giving Costello a second consecutive term in office) help? Could Dev, having been defeated twice in a row, be persuaded to retire from active politics much sooner than OTL, so that Lemass becomes tea-shock in 1954 rather than 1959?

Dunkirk Disaster causes Spain and Soviet Union to join Axis.

The ME-262 isn't the trump card you appear to believe it is. It was an unreliable piece of junk that had engine issues out the wazoo even in the limited amounts it was created.
  13. These Fair Shores: The Commonwealth of New England

Because Ben Franklin is considered a not just a *mere* Traitor, but a super-duper Traitor. Not only did he betray the crown, but he betrayed his birthplace- Boston- by siding with the perfidious rebels. Thus, the New England regiments probably made a point to look for Old Benjamin's stuff and...
  14. Dunkirk Disaster causes Spain and Soviet Union to join Axis.

The meteor isn't a match for the me-262 in 1945 and the US isn't turning Britain into airstrip one if the US is not at war.
  15. Could Dunkirk have gotten "worse" for the Germans?

One simple POD is that the Belgian Army don't surrender the 28th of May so the British forces don't have to close the gap the Belgians left behind them. It was mostly French soldiers who were holding the Dunkirk pocket, so if French and Belgians continue to hold the line, more British forces...
  16. Dunkirk Disaster causes Spain and Soviet Union to join Axis.

Gloster Meteor says hi. As far as nuclear projects, scuttling the nuclear program was in no way the biggest problem. The biggest problem was that the Germans would've been patently unable to assemble enough fissile material due to the focus on using enriched uranium. I recommend reading this...
  17. AHC/WI: land focused Netherlands

How fo we get Netherlands that is more focused on Germany rather than colonies and trade? What if we have Netherlands-Prussia rather than Brandenburg-Prussia?

  19. The Reform Party: 20 Years of History
    Threadmarks: 2001 Part 3

Heading into the election season of 2001, the Republican Party’s position looked rocky and was made worse by events beyond their control. The main problem was that all of the areas up to vote were places Republicans typically did not do well in and currently had term-limited incumbents. In New...

Could the USSR work well enought on its orthodox form to be a pleasant place in modern day?

No, but the sample is biased: you obviously cannot interview any of their birth cohort peers who died before the dissolution of the USSR: those peers had a shorter life and would presumably be less satisfied than the ones who outlived the USSR.
