A Thorn In The Rose: A War Of The Roses TL

He reigned for a decade so I think we know he was going to be decent. Those are all symptoms of the mental illness he is believed to have had, schizophrenia.
  2. FRG withdraws from NATO

The could if they might be funded by the Soviet Union in a evil plot twist coming out of the Red Dawn movie.
  3. List of Alternate Monarchs and Aristocratic Lineage

Edmund, Earl of Rutland survives and marries Marie of Foix as a French proxy, meaning Warwick is somewhat sated etc. Edmund, Duke of Clarence (b. 1443) m. Marie of Foix (b. 1443) A) Richard, Earl of Rutland (b. 1462) m. Margaret of Scotland (b. 1458) B) Cecily of Clarence (b. 1464) m. Henry...

So? Henry V I feel is seen is rose colored glasses because his victories and early death. We don’t know what type of ruler he would have been in the long run, but we DO know what type of ruler Henry VI is, and despite his mental illness he did not make good decisions and was easily influenced by...

    Alternate warships of nations

Come check us out. Our political geography is kind of bonkers, but we're looking for new players.
  6. WI Panjdeh Incident started ww1

If the tension around the Afghan border drags on and escalates, though, the Panjdeh issue may merge with the Bulgarian Crisis. That might cause an Anglo-Austro-Ottoman conflict that could spread further more easily, but the actual trigger would be Balkanian, not Afghan. Germany also would...
  7. Hail, Britannia

RIP Duke of Edinburgh. Will an entry be made for him?

A Thorn In The Rose: A War Of The Roses TL

She was fairly competent to be fair. She was nearly able to get her husband his throne back with Warwick’s help. Those were written by an Ambassador who was Pro-York and biased. Not like the York’s were much better themselves (what with the executions they did).
  9. A Queen Twice Over: Mary Tudor the Elder Marries Francis I of France

I wasn't complaining. Honestly, and I mean no offense when I say this, but I think you can do more with this TL than you could have with that other story. They were both great, but this has more butterflies and therefore is more exciting.

Yea but look who he will be surrounded by ( Beaufort and Margaret of Anjou, who both have the diplomatic and plotical knowledge of a drunken goat to run a country) I have a feeling Edward under them will grow up to be a Joffrey-expy. And was already showing signs of this in the OTL.
  12. OTL Election maps resources thread

Sorry for the old quote but.... *ZERO*? I was thinking of making a very similar map and it's upsetting to know there's literally no resources on the net.

A Queen Twice Over: Mary Tudor the Elder Marries Francis I of France

Er yes, I did reuse that scene. I have no idea whether I'll ever finish that story, so I am using some of the ideas I had floating around for that in this TL instead - which is also now on A03. That would be a twist, wouldn't it? You'll just have to wait and see :)
  14. East first! Europe after a German / CP victory in 1916

Federal elections in Imperial Germany were universal, equal and (legally at least, in practice that took time) secret starting with the North German Confederation. Voting age was 25. Only those lacking capacity (be it for insanity or bankruptcy), getting public welfare, in prison or the armed...
  15. Jesus is born Judith

Judith becomes one more of the many apocalyptic Jewish preachers that appeared around that time, probably with an even smaller following then OTL. Odds are, there's no long lasting historical records of her or her followers with the possible exception of a passing mention in Josephus (assuming...
  16. Germany goes East in 1914 - French Munitions Production?

The German and Austrian official histories are also online. They’re invaluable resources. I think, for the UK, you’re mixing up advertisement with decision. Grey justified the war with Germany as a defense of Belgium, but the cabinet had already moved decisively toward war several days...

A Queen Twice Over: Mary Tudor the Elder Marries Francis I of France

Just as an FYI, I currently foresee Part II of thisTL ending in the spring of 1525, before we leap forward to 1528 or thereabouts and deal with the third, much longer arc... I expect I'll throw up a face cast for Parts I and II as an interlude before we go into Part III :)

Do you Henry V? Also Henry VI suffered a mental illness so that what caused all the issues.
