  1. Invasion of Britain 1941.

Yes he did. Generally based on a single fiction book or History Channel program (although he once used a bubblegum trading card as a primary source). He would then restate the faulty material with a certainty that approached the firmness of the Earth. Sound like anyone?
  2. Invasion of the USSR in 1942.

And this answers the question in what manner? Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot. Bard32. BTW: Thanks for the broken link.
  3. Invasion of Britain 1941.

Of course he is. Quite successfully to this point as well.
  4. Invasion of Britain 1941.

Good to know that you are incapable of supplying specifics and reply to direct questions with vauge platitudes and hadwaves. You ar- OMG! I get it! You ARE Bard32! Welcome back! We've missed you. I named several historians who disagree.
  5. Invasion of the USSR in 1942.

Okay, I know I will wind up regretting this... Please provide, in detail, the reasoning you utilized to come up with this figure. I am especially curious how the Italians manage to make a 75,000 man amphibious landing in waters that they do not own. BTW: Name ONE four division opposed...
  6. The Israeli Capture of Damascus, 1973

Well, there were two full carrier groups in the Med with F-4 F-8, A-6 & A-7 aboard, one of which was east of Cyrpus (making it part, reputedly, part of the SIOP). Planes from the SIOP carrier could be over Israel in about 40 minutes anything from napalm to B-61 dial a yield gravity bombs Both...
  7. Invasion of the USSR in 1942.

Without belaboring the points made in other places... What does Hitler do on December 8, 1941?
  8. The Israeli Capture of Damascus, 1973

If the Israelis had tried for Damacus the Soviets would have intervened, or tried too. The U.S. had already made clear that it would not allow the Soviets to intervene. Do the math.
  9. Invasion of Britain 1941.

Sadly; for this scenario, Hitler was, in fact, a dung beetle and not an aphid.
  10. Invasion of Britain 1941.

Worse? I was unaware that the Axis took Egypt, or Malta, or convinced the Spanish to enter the war as an Axis ally, or took Gibraltar, or broke the Italian fleet out of the Med, or captured and made use of substantial elements of the French Navy, or invaded England, which were the specific...
  11. WWII continues: USA vs. USSR

By the time of the blockade it gets REALLY ugly if the West and USSR go to war. The Western armies have more or less evaporated back into civilian life except for cadre while the Red Army is, while not the Fall 1945 force, still quite large in number. (frex: At the time the Blockade started...
  12. Another "should never have entered service" thread- Ships

I would have to disagree with you in several specifics. The Iowas were never designed to be a "slightly faster South Dakota". They were designed to be a true fast battleship, capable of operating with carrier and cruiser forces without slowing their mobility. While the classic battleship...
  13. WWII continues: USA vs. USSR

Now THAT could get ugly. If Ike was killed, I would expect that the job would go to Marshall (who was close to getting it IOTL before Overlord)
  14. Invasion of Britain 1941.

So Hitler abandons his MAIN GOAL OF THE ENTIRE WAR, destroying the Soviet Union, gaining land for the Volk, and clearing the Jews from Eastern Europe. And this happens why? If the Germans are not continuing their air attacks on England, London has far more force to send to the Med, Malta in...
  15. Invasion of Britain 1941.

Well... There was that big Typhoon in early October of 1945, right where the original marshalling area of Olympic was supposed to be that wrecked 107 landing craft...:eek: So close, but no cigar. :D
  16. Another "should never have entered service" thread- Ships

I agree. Many of the IJN boats were just fine, no worse than those of the Germans certainly, with some being revolutionary (the I-400, Sen Toku Type, even with the silly ass erector set aircraft foolishness, was a stunning bit of design with an unrefueled range of up to 37,000 NAUTICAL MILES...
  17. Another "should never have entered service" thread- Ships

The Wyomings probably not, although it would have been as close to a fair fight as the Kongos would have gotten from an American BB class, and all things considered I would bet on the real BBs. The New Yorks would have matched up quite nicely, and the Nevada, Pennsylvania, New Mexico, Tennessee...
  18. Another "should never have entered service" thread- Ships

I do that these threads in a humorous tone, simply because they are too much fun to NOT play that way. Still, I think the basic points remain correct. I would disagree that the Kongos were more useful than the full on BB that the U.S. retained. While the Wyoming class was borderline, the...
  19. Another "should never have entered service" thread- Ships

Probably would have been a good idea to suspend the training ship class construction once it was decided to get into a shooting war with the greatest industrial power on the planet. The IJN called them CL, treated them like CL, so they were de facto CL. If you want you can replace them with...
  20. Another "should never have entered service" thread- Ships

True. Unfortunely for the IJN these ship were built in 1940-41, AFTER the Japanese were producing the vastly superior Tone, Takao and Mogami CA classes. Pretty much all IJN CL were poor, but this one class stands out.
