  1. The Anglo/American - Nazi War

    1. The T/L sub force is more of less the same as IOTL. The Reich, like the USSR, is a land power, so their hasn't been a need to create more of a force than existed for us. 2. Yes. The only real difference is that their are no efforts in the SSBN direction so all the effort is in SSN...
  2. The Anglo/American - Nazi War

The Party has total control of the education and research process. There are probably some pre-1933 scientists who are trying to do basic research, but they have to do it under the cover of researching and advancing Party approved theories. At this point even all the middle aged minds are the...
  3. The Anglo/American - Nazi War

Space is still the final frontier. The Reich could probably get a small satellite up if there was a concerted effort, but there is no interest among the Party Leadership. They are pushing for ICBM designs that can carry 1,000 KG warheads to New York and beyond. If you came in with a design to...
  4. The Anglo/American - Nazi War

The Allies are using mostly SS designs. The RN has the Porpoise class (based, in part on captured KM boats) while the U.S. has the Tang class as its main design. To answer a question somebody asked several pages back, yes, the U.S. does have SSN in service. The first of the nuclear boats was the...
  5. The Anglo/American - Nazi War

The RAF uses virtually all home grown designs (although they do use the H-34 and H-21 helicopter designs even though they are license built to RAF specifications) including the Vulcan and Victor heavy bombers. The Sea Vixen is beginning to replace the Sea Venom in FAA use, as is the Sea Hawk. As...
  6. The Anglo/American - Nazi War

Here is a semi-quick update. Comments are very welcome. 10. With what today’s Pentagon calls “battlefield shaping” completed the Allies now found themselves faced with what Elizabeth II dubbed, during ceremonies commemorating the 20th Anniversary of the Invasions, “Civilization’s Moment of...
  7. The Anglo/American - Nazi War

Uh... I'm not sure if you liked the post or hated it, but to answer the question: The Philippine Scout and Viet Minh units deployed to Europe were more or less destroyed, taking their experience with them. Their respective countries still had other elements of the same units at home and...
  8. The Anglo/American - Nazi War

There are two answers here. As mentioned there was a historic population of Vietnamese in France in the pre-war era, as well as other Asians. This population provides a small amount of cover, at least for incidental observation by SS or Gestapo investigators. This population is also bearing...
  9. The Anglo/American - Nazi War

Tube Alloys has very much borne fruit. The Allies are in possession of a number of weapons and have used them (see the chapter regarding the St. Patrick's Day Raid). They have not, however, been used in a manner where their existence is known so they are rumor. There has been, virtually from...
  10. The Anglo/American - Nazi War

But what about this last one???? :)
  11. The Anglo/American - Nazi War

I'm really interested in what everyone thinks of this chapter. It has a less "techie" focus than much of the T/L. Comment are encouraged. 9. One of the side benefits of the False Peaks operations was in the area of pyschological warfare. As soon as the smoke cleared enough to allow for...
  12. Can Nazi Germany Win the War Against the United Kingdom?

The UK would not, on it's own, be able to DEFEAT the Reich. Stop them at the Channel Coast of France, and even defeat them in Africa, absolutely & probably respectively. Win the Battle of the Atlantic? Maybe (Ultra was a key, but so was enough shipping and escorts). That does not mean the...
  13. The Anglo/American - Nazi War

Thanks for the kind words. Expect an update soon (today or tomorrow).
  14. Poland as a willing member of the Axis

This is rather like a cow being a willing member of the Bar B Que line-up. Poland was, from the time Hitler first put pen to paper, meant to be obliterated. Too many Slavs, WAY too many Jews, and far to much available land for Hitler's mad dream of Greater Germany.
  15. Germany uses the He 277 agianst Rusia as strategic bomber

Thankfully we have the only known countermeasure for Commie Mammoths
  16. Germany uses the He 277 agianst Rusia as strategic bomber

You know, that is probably the most sensible theory in this entire thread. It explains so much. We must not have a MAMMOTH GAP!!
  17. Germany uses the He 277 agianst Rusia as strategic bomber

Ah... Off to the research stacks!
  18. Germany uses the He 277 agianst Rusia as strategic bomber

See the first page of this thread. :p
  19. Panzer VIII Maus

With absoultely no hope of air cover? The Maus are scrap in a day. If you can blow a hole in a 35,000 ton battleship with a bomb (and, boy could you), any land vehicle is a can of corn.
  20. Better strategy against France in 1940.

I know you are goofing around, but the French fought themselves white in the First War and spent themselves into the poorhouse getting ready for the Second one. The just made God Awful choices in their High Command and were even more casualty adverse that they had believed.
