  1. The Anglo/American - Nazi War

Wow! I am used to my stuff getting some interest, but this debate over a minor detail is a surprise. And it is a very minor point, the Centurion has a 76mm gun instead of the 84mm gun. Let me try to explain my viewpoint on this issue. You always prepare to re-fight the last war. Everyone...
  2. Ultimate Challenge: Unternehmen Seelöwe

If you mass produce the 115B, you CAN'T escort it. Only so much manufacturing capacity is available. Some aircraft has to suffer. Bombers? Those are needed to keep the RAF off balance. Fighters? Needed for escort and to keep the RAF from blowing the pogies out of factories and boatyards...
  3. Ultimate Challenge: Unternehmen Seelöwe

How many torpedo planes are you expecting to use? Against moving warships you can expect a hit rate of around 1-3% for pilots without YEARS of practice. I suggest you look at the number of MISSES by the far more qualified JNAF pilots, flying purpose built aircraft against destroyer or light...
  4. German internment in WW2

Regarding the 11,000 German or German origin who were interned. There were 5.25 MILLION German non citizens (including visitors and immigrants who had not naturalized) in the U.S. according to the 1940 Census. The number interned = 0.21% of the population. That is around 1/5 of the percentage...
  5. German internment in WW2

We beat the hell out of this incident a while back here in the Forum. An isolated incident wasn't the reason for what happen on the West Coast. Racism was. Pure simple & unadulterated racism. .
  6. The Anglo/American - Nazi War

The Reich didn't get distracted by North Africa. In fact they prevailed on the Italians (mainly by telling them that if they got into a crack they were on their own) to scale back their ambitions. So once the first forays against the British resulted in defeat the Med turned into a naval/air war...
  7. The Anglo/American - Nazi War

As the saying goes... Stay tuned! :D
  8. The Anglo/American - Nazi War

Different WW 2 ITTL remember. No Desert War, no Trobuk, etc. The main experience of this TL was in the Pacific, where, ITTL, the Australian & Indian troops were rather poorly treated during the Jungle war and in the view of their national leaders, tossed away in Malaya like so much mown grass...
  9. The Anglo/American - Nazi War

It was designed for a larger gun, however early production was equipped, even IOTL, with the 17 pounder used in OTL Firefly Sherman. This was not illogical, since the 17 pounder was a very nice weapon and more than sufficient to deal with anything up to the Panther. The 105mm isn't in place...
  10. The Anglo/American - Nazi War

Nazi Germany, which did not get caught up in the Med and actually stockpiled some winter uniforms for what it expected to be occupation troops, won the war in the East after capturing the crossings into Stalingrad, an event that led Stalin to kill most of his senior officers in a fit of pique...
  11. German internment in WW2

Swarms of Alien Space Bats. The Japanese interment, as despicable as it was, happened in ONE Military District along the West Coast, not including Hawaii, and was the result of utter panic and uncompromising racism on the part of the District Commanding General. The rest of the country didn't...
  12. The Anglo/American - Nazi War

As always, comments are encouraged. Hope you enjoy the update. 6. The actual landing operations that began the ground phase of the Western/Nazi conflict are one of the most written about and debated series of amphibious operations in the history of warfare. This is understandable, especially...
  13. Pacific War Redux

    Hmmm.... Maybe next week....:D
  14. Pacific War Redux

A question for the followers of this T/L I have had a couple suggestions to try to marry this T/L to my Anglo-American - Nazi War T/L Verse. This may be doable, although I have to block it out to be sure, but before I make any decision, I thought it worthwhile to solicit some feedback for...
  15. How Long Could Nation Wide Prohibition Have Lasted In America

That it lasted as long as it did was a miracle. Without doubt the Temperance Movement was the most spectacular example of good intentions turning to ^%#& in the history of the U.S. It effectively created ORGANIZED crime in the U.S. on the regional/national level The current drug war...
  16. WI: Benedict Arnold Doesn't Betray The Americans?

If Arnold had remained loyal to the Patriot cause, especially if he's had the good grace to die in battle, perhaps at Yorktown, if not at Saratoga, there would be cities and counties across America named for him, maybe even a state. Before he turned he was, next to Washington, the greatest...
  17. AH Challenge: Better US torpedoes in 1941

There is no real need to do anything dramatic. Anything that gets the Navy to actually test a couple Mk 14 is all that is required. I would suggest some Intel from the British regarding Kriegsmarine exploder failures and the likelihood that it is due to the influence detonator might be a place...
  18. Pacific War Redux

    Why??????????????????
  19. US attacks Israel in '03 instead of Iraq. My first TL in the making.

The difference is that this only applied to part of Maryland. The Courts also fed Lincoln his lungs on the matter. The simple fact that the courts could overrule the Commander in Chief, during an insurrection, is pretty much proof that Matrial law was not in effect nation-wide.
  20. US attacks Israel in '03 instead of Iraq. My first TL in the making.

Do you even KNOW what Martial Law means?:confused::confused: Look it up. Stop embarrassing yourself.
