  1. How long can Germany delay defeat without allied use of nuclear bombs still at least 1950s

Literally Germany's only hope is the WAllies tire of the war before they get nukes and agree to some kind of compromise peace. And even such a peace would be very hostile, with the Western Allies ready to pounce the moment the house of cards that are Germany's political and economic apparatuses...
  2. WI: Sega merges with Konami in 2003

So, what if Sega merged with Konami in 2003?
  3. How long can Germany delay defeat without allied use of nuclear bombs still at least 1950s

It's pretty much impossible for Germany to last beyond 1945, even without allied use of atomic bombs. They were too heavily outnumbered. There are two recent threads about better performance of Germany with a POD of 1942 or 1943...
  4. What are some cliches in a Central Powers victory TL?

What about elections in Canada, New Zealand, Australia and South Africa? Australia had 2 Referenda during WW1, and I think maybe a General Election. In any case 'that' scale people are talking about seem to have a bullshit set of criteria in the first place.
  5. AHC: Richer more developed Sub Sahara Africa

There are so many countries there that it's impossible to come up with a single POD for all of them. I do have some ideas for a few, however: Zimbabwe: Joshua Nkomo and ZAPU leads the country instead of Robert Mugabe and ZANU. Even if he was as bad as Mugabe (which I frankly doubt) he'll die in...

    Allies reject Japan’s peace offer

What if the Allies felt an unconditional surrender wasn’t enough and decided they had to invade the island in order to remove the “cradle of fascism”? Impact on Japanese politics?
  7. Is an OPEC for iron ore unrealistic?

I was reading some time ago about the use of trains to move oil out of the Dakota oil patch. Apparently trains are considerably more expensive than a pipeline to move oil but were considerably more flexible. When the price was low they'd send the oil to refineries in the South but when the price...
  8. AHC/WI: President Nixon, VP Kennedy, 1957

Interesting idea you've got here. Nixon would be eligible to run in 1960, correct? I'd imagine Kennedy might run for President in his own right then.
  9. A Hippie in the House of Mouse (Jim Henson at Disney, 1980)

Considering that'd be made by the guys behind Airplane! and the Naked Gun films (before they ended up making Scary Movie sequels) I'd say that it'd have a much better chance of being actually funny.

Dunkirk Disaster causes Japan to attack Britain in December 1940

So you've literally listened to none of the feedback in THE PAST FOUR THREADS
  11. Is an OPEC for iron ore unrealistic?

As I understand it China's demand is so massive that only the cheapest sources of supply are acceptable, which apparently is Australia and Brazil but Brazil for some reason isn't what it was. China mines it's own iron but it's more expensive so they import it in bulk.

Dunkirk Disaster causes Japan to attack Britain in December 1940

Been thinking of getting a PhD. Thought I might get one in Military History with a focus on modern submarine operations. Might change that and get one on the psychology of people who post the same thing over and over again on the same board. Just a thought.
  13. TL-191: After the End

More on the Caucasus, why is Georgia part of the Ottoman Empire? IOTL, they became a German-backed republic in 1918 in the wake of the Russian Revolution. But with the CP winning earlier, that's bound to change. So what changed? As for the smaller republics that emerged in the Caucuses as well...
  14. How far does Communism spread if the US is disinterested?

https://www.stlouisfed.org/on-the-economy/2017/may/tigers-tiger-cubs-economic-growth In terms of the number of people lifted out of poverty, literally one of the greatest things in the history of the world. Although for our purposes here, the start date of 1950 may be on the late side.

I would love a food based post Far too early for the mad anti-pasta Futurists, but perhaps some kind of pizza war?
  16. Germany builds another battleship instead of Graf Zeppelin

I didn't know about Prinz Eugen but I did think that naming a ship after the man who won the Battle of Lissa wouldn't go down well with Mussolini.
  17. Caught between the Bear and the Rooster (Stalin invades Germany 1940)

Yes that cautious. While the Germans will undoubtedly be worse off, the gap is still liable to be a bit smaller then it was in OTL late-1944 when they were facing forces far willing to be much more aggressive in their operations, like the Americans. The French idea of methodical battle pretty...
  18. How long can Germany delay defeat without allied use of nuclear bombs still at least 1950s

How long can Germany delay dear without allied use of nuclear bombs with a POD of January 1942? Possible POD to slow nuclear progress POD: research into nuclear weapons and materials is slower and no nuclear bombs are built still the 1950s for allies Or POD: the entire research teams...
