  1. The Anglo/American - Nazi War

100% Mechanized? No. Mostly Motorized? Yes. Mechanized indicates that everyone has a seat under armor, usually in a tracked APC of IFV. Motorized means you can, in theory, find a seat in a truck or other vehicle for everyone. Even today there isn't a military on Earth that is fully mechanzed...
  2. The Anglo/American - Nazi War

Blue. Thought I'd caught all of those. Thanks.
  3. The Anglo/American - Nazi War

The total is supposed to be 110 divisions as they move into the the wider part of the European "funnel".
  4. The Anglo/American - Nazi War

Well.... Not quite... full effect. Time (and I) will tell. :p
  5. The Anglo/American - Nazi War

It was never typical IOTL, mostly because the ability to land tanks was not well developed. The Allies have been working on the problem since 1943 ITTL and have managed to get a doctrine for putting tanks on the beach with the 3rd of 4th waves (as happened in the Thorn Bush with the Australian...
  6. The Anglo/American - Nazi War

I had planned for this chapter to cover the actual Gravel landings. As it developed it became clear that it would be a background chapter, there was simple too much information to toss off with just a paragraph or two. Comments are, as always, encouraged. 14 The location of the Gravel...
  7. The Anglo/American - Nazi War

Frankly it was easier to continue the Vanguards than figuring out how to save the Lions. I have always seen the Vanguard as being somewhat closer to the USN Iowas. That makes them a better fit, I think, for the TL.
  8. The Anglo/American - Nazi War

Thanks for the kind words. :) China ITTL is just starting to get itself put back on track. Unfortunately without the threat of the CCP, the Allies haven't been willing to pour much funding into the region (this extended war is over-extending even the nearly unlimited resources of the U.S.) so...
  9. Japanese Panzerfaust?

There would have been no tactical difference at all. None. It would have been a tragedy for the individual tank crews families, but overall it would be like trying to empty the Pacific Ocean with a teaspoon.
  10. Japanese Victory (?)

You really shouldn't use that stuff, but since it's already lit let me have a hit.
  11. Japanese Victory (?)

Haven't run into the Landlord here yet have you?
  12. Japanese Victory (?)

I normally don't contribute to these "back from the grave" threads, but since you asked me directly I'll make an exception. Adam, BTW, covered most of the reason that taking Midway simply wasn't in the cards. The Japanese were, regardless of what happened at Midway, destined for defeat at...
  13. The Anglo/American - Nazi War

    Now THAT is inhumane!!!:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
  14. The Anglo/American - Nazi War

Would have worked better if you had threatened a puppy or kitten. Regular old hostages are so yesterday's terrorism. ;)
  15. The Anglo/American - Nazi War

Soon. The next chapter is going to be interesting, but I have to get it blocked out properly.:)
  16. Operation Sealion

Betting the Under is a reference to the Over:Under bet that is available for most sporting events. In this context it implies that something bad is about to happen to the OP or the thread. As an aside my frieds & I also set an over:under whenever somebody gets married. Mean? maybe. Funny? Oh...
  17. Operation Sealion

    I'm betting the under here.
  18. The Anglo/American - Nazi War

Pacific War Redux will return once I complete this T/L. I have not forgotten it in any way, but to try to do both at the same time is just too bloody confusing.:o The Allies went into Norway hoping to draw Luftwaffe and SS units into the open as much as anything else since the False Peak...
  19. The Anglo/American - Nazi War

Yep, there is going to be a LOT of rebar waiting for reuse. The Free French are a political afterthought. They have virtually no support in DC and not much in London. Sadly, they have, in large part, only themselves to blame. When the Free French, quite understandably, blew a valve when the...
