  1. Viability of a "Boghammar Swarm" in WWII?

CIWS would involve the Gatling Guns at 20mm and perhaps 30.06. But what stops someone from thinking, "We have spare 37mm ammo...we have a rotary cannon...those Navy guys just got a bew toy by giving something really close an electric motor (not that they are mechanically that close despite...
  2. WWII: German Victory in Battle of Britain, could USSR win alone?

What panzers in 1939 ? There are like 100 operational Pz III IV
  3. WWII: German Victory in Battle of Britain, could USSR win alone?

Add into this that the Red Army still was reeling even more from the effects of the Purges...and given the fate of the SVT-40, if Stalin decides that the T-34 can be relegated until after the war in favor of producing other models...

Wrapped in Flames: The Great American War and Beyond

Has the Union thought of creating sharpshooters who primary job it is to shoot officers on the field. I always found it weird that high ranking officers still led at the front during the ACW despite all the reasons why you shouldn't.

A Different World War II (A Draft TL)

SOME MORE PHOTOS FROM THE TL British and Greek forces manning an anti-aircraft gun on the island of Crete, 1941. The failure of the Luftwaffe to bomb the British 'out' of Crete would once again damage their reputation in Hitler's eyes. It also put much of Southern Europe within the range of RAF...
  6. Automotive AHC - Improve Studebaker's (and Packard's) prospects

Both companies would each have the ingredients to survive over the next few decades ITTL, more so if they are involved in a short-term alliance / partnership with each other from the 1950s-1960s via both common platforms as well as ATL variations of their own engines. ATL AMC would benefit from...

  8. Primavera d'Italia: War, Love and Revolution

Good catch, but I do believe Artusi will be a bit of a late comer, since he published his book only in 1891. Incidentally, his life should be better in a way: in 1851, the infamous brigand Passatore raided Forlimpopoli in Romagna, where he was living with his family. Besides the fright and...

    Exploration without Christianity

The absence of Jesus is such a massive discrepancy that it is difficult to respond to your idea without more details. Literally anything can happen in 1500 years.
  10. WWII: German Victory in Battle of Britain, could USSR win alone?

All (edit: most) of which applies to the Red Army, and especially Stalin (who, it seems, took days to come to terms with the Nazi attack) .. if it was a shock in 1941, it would be even more of a shock in 1939 ... If the entire Panzer thrust is through Poland into Belaruss straight at Moscow, ie...
  11. WI: ATL Congress of Vienna partition of Poland

You mean Russia got eastern Galicia right?Because without western Galicia Austria would have no land connection to Congress Poland. Any way,I think having one power uniting the majority of Poland proper( Posen, western Galicia and Congress Poland) would be the best outcome for poles themselves...
  12. PC/WI: Delayed invasion of Vichy France

Hi everyone, OTL Vichy France was invaded under Case Anton on the 12th of November 1942 following Operation Torch that started four days before and the imminent loss of Vichy French colonies to the Allies. However, could this decision to invade have been delayed (thus assuming that Torch may...

Chinese pulls a Russia, conquerors the eurasian steppe

The Qing don't protect their ancestral homelands in the same fashion, no Qing would be an obvious way to do that, and then literally anyone significant decides they want to go find the north pole or something. Maybe someone hears of mammoths and wants to give one to the Emperor. It's...
  14. Viability of a "Boghammar Swarm" in WWII?

Is the issue not that they are good but that they are super cheap (commercial civilian off the shelf engines etc) so Iran can actually deploy lots of them even if they just act as decoy targets and lookouts for the actual effective forces?

Patton in Korea/MacArthur in the White House

Ike renamed FDR's 'Shangri-La' to "Camp David" for his grandson David Eisenhower Name going to change, but I'm not sure what to, but the area was known as Naval Support Facility Thurmont- so I'd say it goes back to that, or it get named for somebody who died in Korea

  18. Why was Hitler so charismatic?

Absolutely. And it's also important to note that there were very many people who didn't particularly care, just like with all elections. And even if they vote, they don't attach that much importance to the actual outcome. In the end, only a relatively small part of society really cares about...

  20. As Dreamers Do: American Magic Redux

My guess would be whatever's popular from PBS. Although, with the talking animal aspect and the fact that both kids and families loved the original movie, that Huck's Landing series would also be her favorite, regardless of the bias in the family.
