  1. What would it take to get the Soviet Union to " win" the Cold War?

I hate to be *that* guy, but what means winning? Does it mean that the US turns socialist? Because that wouldn't necessarily mean that the USSR would be thought of as "the winner", because even a socialist US wouldn't just say "good game, but you won" and still engage in geopolitical conflicts...

Request Maps/Flags/Coats of Arms/Heraldry here, II

There was some pdf showing various proposals for CSA flag. Not sure if I can find it on short notice but that would be a good place to start with.

  4. What were the biggest tech and weapon mistakes and missed opportunities of Germany in ww2

When strapped for fuel, coal fired steam** tractors for artillery and supply train makes a lot of sense (if all else fails, they can be run on wood). On the other hand, horses == self-propelled fresh meat ... EDIT ** especially when your other steam powered prime-movers can't run on the local...
  5. UAS militarily planes if no Vietnam war

The F-4 was far from an embarrassment, it was the most advanced multirole fighter of the 1960's. The obsession with it's early versions not having a gun miss the mark. Even after they got guns most kills were still made with missiles, as most kills by other aircraft were. F-4 pilots flew to the...

Would India, Africa & Latin America be hit in a nuclear war?

I mean if you are talking about the direct hit it is possible for china, after the sino soviet split, but other than that I don’t really think so,
  9. What would it take to get the Soviet Union to " win" the Cold War?

Another thing would be seriously damaging the US in a way that affects both its prestige and the internal view of foreign entanglements. For that, a second Vietnam like situation could work pretty well. Combine that with domestic issues around civil rights, and you could have a more isolationist...

For All Mankind (AH Tv series at Apple TV)

We are started to see this happen in the 2010-the 2020s all you would need is some rich person who sees the value in space pushing into that area like Spacex is doing and I could see that at least starting to happen by the mid-1990s. It'll likely only really took off in the mid-2000s but it is...
  11. Would India, Africa & Latin America be hit in a nuclear war?

The Cuban Missile Crisis, Able Archer 83... take your pick... Would these areas be hit? I know Europe and North America are toast (although the latter might only be lightly mussed if it's the Cuban Missile Crisis)... possibly East Asia[1] as well, but I haven't heard of any Soviet or American...

What were the biggest tech and weapon mistakes and missed opportunities of Germany in ww2

I disagree with the opening premise and give my reasons by example. It is not up to me to do anything more. YMMV always, but one must be prepared to justify when the data suggests other conclusions.

I'm not the most familiar with how things went otl, but starting executing people like him can very easily escalate to the Yorkists also starting up the execution of High-Ranking prisoners, with all the fun that leads to.

He is. The original North American gross for Dr. No was about $2 million. It would take a while before Bond films would really become big box office in the States.
  16. What were the biggest tech and weapon mistakes and missed opportunities of Germany in ww2

So if you disagree with the basic premise of the OP's question then why are you here except to tell everyone else how wrong they are and how right you are?

Threadmarks: Events in March, The Hunt for Guevara, The Youth Education Improvement and Juvenile Delinquency Act of 1963, & Kissinger’s memorandum on Indochina

Change is in the air The remainder of March saw several changes in American society, most of which delighted Kennedy. On March 18th, The United States Supreme Court found in Gideon v Wright that any criminal defendant who could not afford one had an absolute right to have a public defender...
