  1. DBWI: Carthage doesn't convert to Judaism?

Hard to say. Jews really enriched Carthage economically and culturally. OOC: which Gauls? How did the Punic wars conclude?
  2. Germany and Japan Unite!

I haven't seen it either, but I heard my mom once remark that it gave my dad nightmares after he'd seen it. So it's probably realistic.

    The Plantagenet Succession

Well compared to his predecessors that’s not bad!

    Germany and Japan Unite!

I haven't seen it, but I know of it. Was it good? I've always heard it was controversial.

What were the biggest tech and weapon mistakes and missed opportunities of Germany in ww2

Those deathtraps which Allied navies consented to use for years after the war was over? Those deathtraps?

  8. DBWI: Carthage doesn't convert to Judaism?

As we know in our timeline that after Carthage defeated the Gauls in the Mediterranean that the authority of the old carthaginian gods weakened and wanted. So much so that by the end of 100 BCE that the carthaginian senate just banned the old gods entirely and embraced Judaism. So in a timeline...
  9. Was there a realistic chance for all of Germany to become a marxist-leninist socialist country in the aftermath of WW2?

At best West Germany gets socialist itself, but it certainly wouldn't copy the East German system. Especially after the July risings in 1953.
  10. Russia vs Germany, WW2

In that case it's going to be hard to keep the UK out once Barbarossa is initiated. The UK will support the USSR with weapons, either by selling them* or by lend-lease. I don't see shipping from the UK to Murmansk being waved by by the Germans. But even without getting the war with the UK...

Romanov Ascendant: What if the Soviet Union survived?

Obviously I like this idea, (I mentioned the idea too), and it could work out to either be genius or an utter disaster for GDR. On the disaster side, Krenz and Renata decide that they will continue to fight it out for the top seat, by tearing the other down. Allies of each would find...
  12. Germany and Japan Unite!

Holocaust From what, for my money, was the true Golden Age of Network Television. There were miniseries in the late 70s that are the equal of anything that was in theaters at the time, or is on HBO/Netflix/Prime today. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holocaust_(miniseries)
  13. Magnum's naval PoD's. Ep. 7 - Danish navy puts up a fight in 1940

That's a good question - the examples we have, of which I've read about, seems to indicate that on a small unit level, they were decently willing to fight, though by no means Japanese-level suicidal. Leadership let them down, and strategic decisions were a master class in failure.

How much different would cancelling operation Barbarossa make on WW2

Thanks peeps. It looks like even Romania plus the synthetic plants in aggregate would not make a huge difference. If we factor in continued Soviet oil exports to Germany what kind of impact does that have on fuel reserves? In the event described in my previous comment of an enhanced M-R pact...
  15. An Examination of Extra-Universal Systems of Government

I'll have to get to this when I get home. Thanks! Also, since this is a good opportunity to advertise, I also do the world map covers, and would love input from the authors. I am very busy at the moment but I should be able to start these sometime soon.
  16. Lebanon joined the United Arab Republic?

Could a successful mega-UAR (Egypt+Syria+Lebanon+Jordan+Iraq) actually make a war against Israel less likely? Not only would Nasser be busy keeping this gigantic and very diverse state together (though a potentially victorious war could be an opportunity to unite it), but his prestige wouldn't...

Was there a realistic chance for all of Germany to become a marxist-leninist socialist country in the aftermath of WW2?

If East Germany retained it's borders, then it would be more competitive with West Germany, and that would give the soviets a higher chance of pulling all of Germany into it's orbit.
