  1. A Hippie in the House of Mouse (Jim Henson at Disney, 1980)

It's kind of ironic that Eisner ITTL is the one resentful of Disney considering what happened between him and Katzenberg in OTL. I'm surprised Eisner didn't think of making a series directly taking a swipe at Star Trek. Like a Galaxy Quest analogue.
  2. Sir John Valentine Carden survives.

A small number of fighters from either a carrier or the RAF over head likely also saves the fleet as the IJN air groups cannot form up and attack as they please with fighters, even bad fighters making attacks on them.

What if the InterWar RCN was given the same portional funding as the RAN?

Not really, as it'd still have to come out of the UK's allotted cruiser tonnage. Better to just let the RN operate all the major fleet assets, while the RCN focuses on convoy escorts and ASW.
  4. WI: Dominion of Carolina

In the 1910s "Dreadful War" era. Come to think about it, I didn't know what to do with it by then. Maybe that was a mistake. I might do a revision/v2.0 of my timeline sometime, but I'm not sure.
  5. WI: Scottish Unionist Party doesn't merge with the Conservatives in 1965?

Bumping because I'm still keen on an answer.
  6. WI: Gneisenau on Operation Rheinübung?

Its a Triage thing All British BBs can fight off the Twins (as they are armed with 11" guns) - however all of the Jutland Vets would struggle (read be out matched) verses Bismarck with its 15" guns So focus on Bismarck
  7. WWII: German Victory in Battle of Britain, could USSR win alone?

Thing is the earlier the Germans go the less prepared they are as well. The whole thing post Polish invasion is happening earlier than German economic/military planning had in mind. And if it's after the invasion of France et al, you have to make good those specific losses as well WW2 era...

    WI: Dominion of Carolina

Yes, I remember reading through yours a little while ago. Unless I'm mistaken, don't you have the British South get conquered by the United States? Thanks for popping in.
  10. Fremontian Fracas: An Earlier American Civil War

    Thank you for the analysis!
  11. OTL Election maps resources thread

That was for an STV proposal if I remember right. I've seen that constituency map before, and while it's better than nothing, the population size of those districts are uneven and too big... Oh well.
  12. What were the biggest tech and weapon mistakes and missed opportunities of Germany in ww2

my view has always been the Elektroboote were developed in reverse order, that they should have built the (much) smaller Type XXIII first, it was more within their technical and production capabilities. they also needed an even smaller mini submarine, maybe the Italian exploits could have...
  13. List of monarchs III

For clarification - (Sovereign) Prince of Waterloo - Ruler of the Principality of Waterloo Hereditary Prince of Waterloo - the next person in line to the throne, this can change dependent on any birth (ie, when Frederick of Waterloo succeeds, the Hereditary Prince(ss) would be one of his...

Me + HeX Allow us to introduce ourselves Southern "Canada"? A British South? Yep. I have it in my TL. I don't to be too self-promoting, but I think I found an actual TL about this idea. I just happened to make it.
  15. There and Back Again: The English Journeys of Catherine of Aragon.

Yes it certainly can be, and such a moment was well deserved. Thank you!!!
  16. Third Bard's the Charm: A High Byzantine TL

I expect efforts in Sicily to fizzle out as quickly as they did historically.
  17. WI: Belisarius reconquers Italy

Holding Italy would remain a challenge. Plenty of groups such as the Lombards who would attempt to take Italy from the Byzantines, as well as possible local resistance. Taking Gaul seems to be a tall order considering how hard holding Italy would remain. Hellenization... I'm not sure. I think it...
  18. What were the biggest tech and weapon mistakes and missed opportunities of Germany in ww2

Oh, and before anyone points out that the British Admiralty would not have shared the 1916 snorkel = 1) The Britich Amiralty 'saw no need for it' (so no special effort to keep it secret) 2) The Germans (or their Versailles breaking U-boat design team working in the Netherlands since 1922) can...
  19. A Hippie in the House of Mouse (Jim Henson at Disney, 1980)

This reads like one big episode of The Office. We even have a Michael Scott and a Dwight Schrute.
  20. With a POD in October 1918, how much longer can WWI last?

I suppose it's possible for there to be a coup by Bitterenders in the Army who insist Germany fight on to the very end, but Germany's allies are already out of the war, the navy is in mutiny with Sailors Soviets in charge, the country's looking at another long hungry winter and the Army is...
