  1. Es Geloybte Aretz Continuation Thread

I recall an IOTL Charles Sch*lz cartoon, where Sally suffers from amblyopia, has to wear an eye patch, and her legend was "No Arab shoot at me".

The New Order: Last Days of Europe Thread II

Some were traded for, Collab England had many prisoners like Orde Wingate repatriated.

If Mondale wins in 1984, does Clinton still become President in 1992?

So, for whatever reason, Mondale wins the 1984 election and secures a second term. Does Bill Clinton still end up as President-elect in 1992? Or is his presidency butterflied away?

The New Order: Last Days of Europe Thread II

He's just too minor, so he's not getting a route. And it'd be trading a one person authoritarian state for a more openly oligarchic, classist and less reformist one party state.

Oh I hadn't even thought of that. Good shout!

A Queen Twice Over: Mary Tudor the Elder Marries Francis I of France

Actually, to be fair, although Henry meets Diane fairly shortly, it'll be the latter part of 1523 before he really gets serious about her....

A Queen Twice Over: Mary Tudor the Elder Marries Francis I of France

Ohhhh does this mean we get to see Henry VIII play up the whole "Apollo" comparison (or, you know, force it to be made) to match with Diane? His grandfather was called the Sun in Splendor - I'm sure it won't take too much prodding for Henry to revive the nickname
  8. Alternate warships of nations

Although you could probably make due with the one in the East Indies being a floating drydock which you probably could aquire from the Germans since they had a couple of the right size lying around and needed some cash.

The Hampshire class Heavy Cruiser, which is an enlarged Town class cruiser with 8 in guns.
  11. Alternate warships of nations

The Hood was effectively 30m longer though only a couple of meters wider. It seems a bit much if they need to think of new docks for just one capital ship and I'm assuming at least two docks, one in the Netherlands and one in the East Indies?
  12. What if the InterWar RCN was given the same portional funding as the RAN?

Honestly you could find the tonnage for 4 RCN Leanders/Amphions by scrapping HMAS Adelaide or one of the oldest remaining Cs and not building the Artheusas and assuming the Yorks got procured by Canada(and maybe reordered as Counties if this done early enough in the build process/ prior to it)...

    Threadmarks: Much fighting in Russia

Sept 3, 1940 The Germans reach Bălţi and engage in a 2 day battle where the T-34 shows up for the first time. The Germans lose 20,000 men(1,000 captured, 9,000 wounded and 10,000 dead) while the Russians lose 40,000 (3,000 captured, 23,000 wounded and 14,000 dead). The Russians also lose 30...

  16. Alternate warships of nations

How big was a Scharnhorst compared to an Admiral? Given Design 1047, which was inspired by the Scharnhorst, was at worst a large heavy cruiser, and at best a Battlecruiser, I'm sure that a dock could be enlarged or freshly built to accommodate. That being said, a Dutch Admiral-class, is very...
  17. Could the USSR work well enought on its orthodox form to be a pleasant place in modern day?

So, I'm not an economist or an expert on Soviet history by any stretch, but are we talking about the modern Soviet Union being on par with China, in terms of being an economic powerhouse with a relatively good standard of living (i.e. access to consumer goods) for its population, but still with...
  18. WI: Alsace-Lorrena is not taken by the Prussians?

The problem with the attempts of making peace terms significantly harder is that the war for the Prussians went about as well as one could imagine: the Prussians thrashed the French, fought a quick victorious war, and imposed harsh and beneficial, yet acceptable (for the time) terms upon the...

wilhelmmina: WI: Elizabeth I doesn’t adopt Edward VII? So, everyone knows how the Seymours got into power.
